Product Description

“I don't know if it’s fate, coincidence, or my curse, but I'm still breathing, and my breaths are for you.”

Mags McManus is far from a normal woman in her mid twenties. Being a war widow, a business professional, and a brokenhearted train wreck only skims the surface of the layers of who Margret McManus truly is. Waking up in a hospital bed, alone and confused, Mags once again has to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart. With her best friends by her side, Mags slowly starts to learn the answers she so desperately longs for. But is everything going to continue to spiral out of control? Or is there a light at the end of this dark, twisting tunnel where all the broken pieces can finally fall back together?

Note from the author: Second book in the two part Crashing Series. Crashing Back Down should be read before Falling Back Together to avoid spoilers. A portion of all royalties from Falling Back Together are donated by the author to The Marcie Mazzola Foundation.

**18+ for sexual situations, cursing, and adult content.***

This is one of those series that you really should read in order, I started this book first but then went back and read Crashing Back Down before coming back to Falling Back Together and it was absolutely the best decision. This story takes up immediately following Crashing and after the cliffhanger of the first you will love the HEA of this book. All the characters in these books work so well together fitting like a wonderful jigsaw that makes sense when they are all fitted in properly.
Mags is a wonderfully wounded person, so real with what she goes through but in this second book she really grows up, and finds herself in ways she didn't know, being there for others and having them lean on her is a growing experience that she needed to break her out of her pity party.
I'm on team Walker for sure but he also did a lot of growing in this second book, taking responsibility and not only opening himself up but believing that he is good enough to be loved.
Cali and Mitch, Liz and Jim, Buck, Elena, and even Tony from Charlie's are all back and each one of the adds such a depth to this beautifully written story, and although we never actually meet Randy he is such an important part of the story and by the end you feel like you had known him and that you miss him too.
There are twists and turns that drag the emotions out of you, steamy scenes, quite a few black eyes, and of course some scotch, though that is being cut back on, though I don't think they will be cutting back on the tattoos.
This is a story that will have us either hugging our own true north or setting out to find them as it shows that relationships aren't always easy and clean but complicated and messy and that love and hate are close friends but in the end if we let the love win then we win a treasure beyond price, that of someone's heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars This story begins right where Crashing Back Down left off.. 28 March 2015
By Valley of the Book Doll - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
After Mags found Walker’s journal detailing every single deep and dark thought he's had including a shocking secret she panicked and fainted. After waking up in the hospital, Walker is nowhere to be found and no one has heard from him.
Arriving back home to the mess of dead daisies, she has another mini-freak out as the memory of their confrontation comes crashing back.

On top of Mags’ situation with Walker, her best friend Cali is also smack dab in the middle of a crisis with her husband Kyle. She needs to be there for her best friend all while dealing with a mess of heartache that she’s in.

The supporting characters were just that, supportive. I really love Cali and Mitch and the bond they all share. They’re there for one another whenever and for whatever reason, big or small. They struggle right along with Mags after figuring out Walker’s secret. Of course Mags’s dilemma is different, they can all relate to each other. She spends the entire time sorting through her feelings and then fighting for what she wants when she figures out what that is exactly.

While I didn’t quite feel the same connection and intensity with this book like i did the first, it was still a beautiful and well-written story. This story was a roller coaster of emotions! It was truly heartbreaking to read through Mags’ conflicting thoughts. Her guilt tears at her from one side, while the other side wants Walker to hold her in his arms for the rest of their lives. She knows that she should move on, but what Walker did nags at her with force.

“I loved that I’d had Randy for the time that I’d had him and I was so thankful that I had Walker, but I knew that these circumstances were not the ones that I would have chosen. But then it hit me. Maybe Walker was the one that I was supposed to have been with the whole time.”

Despite loving Walker with all her heart and knowing he is who she needs to be with, it kills her to feel like she’s betraying Randy. This story was definitely bittersweet and moving. For those who started this series, I'd recommend to continue onto this book and watch these two come full circle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Copy in exchange for honest review 22 May 2014

I eagerly awaited Falling Back Together for many reasons. First, Kristen came up with an interesting story and I just had to know what happens with Walker! Second, Mags is a 25-year-old girl who lost her husband and is hurting, something that many of us can relate to in some form. Falling Back Together picks up right where book 1 left us, which if you haven’t read it leaves you going OMG!!! The difference between the books is book one focuses on the process of moving on after a loss. Book 2 is the aftermath and we see Mags finally began to accept her new life and understand what life is truly about.
I was constantly reminded throughout the book that it everything that does happen (which I will not spoil) is all within one week! Poor Mags and Cali go through hell!!
“The only reason why I’d even decided to shave my legs was to have an excuse to hide away in my warm solitude of despair for a little bit longer.”
Mags makes a lot of hard choices in this book. Despite her pain and confusion, Mags is a sweetheart and she has tons of compassion. However, these seem to be a great enemy for her and she must make a choice: Does she walk away or run back to him? This is where we really see Mags grow.
“I hated the man I was desperate for. I missed the haunting from a ghost that no longer coaxed my dreams. I had an impending dinner with a man I loathed. What the hell is going on?”
The biggest challenge the author had to win me over was to help me like Walker, because end of Book 1 made me hate me! I resisted the urge, like most of Mags friends did in the book, but Mags holds on to a logic that is hard to hold on to. Kristen did an awesome job of writing Mags. Being someone who experienced a similar lost around the same age, I understood most of Mags action. In book 1 we see a lot of drinking and I am glad that it is addressed in book 2. Mags owns it. She doesn’t hid behind her innocence of being young or just out of college. The world is not black and white, it is full of color and Mags really seems to embrace that despite the constant pitfalls in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a story about true love lost and found again, to believe in fate and the power of family!!! 21 May 2014
By Stephanie Marshall - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
In the first book in the series we meet Mags (Margaret) she met and married the love of her life, her college sweetheart. He joined the service and Mags became a widow in her 20s. During this book we see the struggles that Mags faces trying to come back from the dark place of losing her husband. She has a great support system of college friends, Cali, Mitch and Walker. She also lives down the street from her in-laws. Throughout the book we were able to see Mags beginning to revive her life and learn that it is ok to live even after losing a loved one. There are many tragedies that occur during this time with her therapist and Walker, but things seem to be coming together and she and Walker are growing closer. Until she finds his journal and everything comes crashing down.
This is where book two Falling back together begins. With Mags trying to except and understand exactly what happened to Randy and Walker, and why did Walker just leave her when he promised he would never hurt her again. This book is a roller coaster of emotions and tragedies that kept me on the edge of my seat. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. The emotions and the draw between Mags and Walker were so undeniable but they had so many hurdles to overcome.
These books were a great emotionally charged read. Even though there was quite a bit of tragedy and loss throughout the series, it still was an amazing read. They had their happy times and Cali and Mags had their crazy girl days. But through it all the underlying theme was the importance of family and support. We learned the fact that your family does not have to be your blood; they are the people that are there for you no matter what.
We were able to see what a great family these friends created with each other, Randy’s family, Mags mom and Mitch’s dad. This book also stressed the fact that it is ok to go on living even when a love one is no longer with us and that it is ok to seek individual or group therapy to help learn to cope with the lose and learn how to go on living. I loved all the characters of this book and was sad to see it end. But it is a wonderful story of fate and how things do happen for a reason, you might know why at the time but it all comes together in the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the first.... 20 May 2014
By johanna - Published on Amazon.com

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

After reading about Mags and Walker's star-crossed relationship in Crashing Back Down, Falling Back Together (the direct sequel) was not a disappointment. I found it better than the first, less confusing in parts and with just the right amount of drama.

Mags gains consciousness from her panic attack to find her world more empty than before. Because of his guilt, Walker is gone, punishing himself by going to his own personal hell - home. No one knows where that is and Mags isn't even sure if she should start looking. She knows Walker is punishing himself for a plan gone so very wrong; something not his fault but one he has every right to blame himself for.

Mags uses the time to slowly allow herself to heal. When Mitch gives her information on Walker's family, she searches for him and finds his hideout, while getting a small encounter of the family he's tried to run away from. It's a short reunion, ending with another fight and her leaving.

There's always been more to Walker than he let on. There are very good reasons why he wanted to hide who he really was and why he would think suicide was a good solution to his problems. He, too, is in need of healing and it's only Mags that can help him through it.

Falling Back Together is a dark romance that only a writer of Kristen Hope Mazzola's calibre could write. It's sad but not depressing, there's enough realism there with relationship problems (and not just those of the main characters), alcohol, and more positively, quirkily terrific family support. Of course there's a happily ever after, but how these two and their beautiful friends and family made the journey, is the whole point of this story.

I am hoping for another installment of this series: Cali and Mitch deserve to have their story told, too!
