5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars for the conclusion to a pretty epic love triangle 22 May 2014

I LOVED book one in this series and even though it has a pretty definite stopping point, since there is a book two, you know more drama is involved!

This book picks up a couple years after Falling in Between, with Jenna and Robert living together while away at college. Even though Jenna has moved on from Evan, she just can't get him out of her head. When he appears in her dreams again, she panics, thinking he is back in a coma and takes off to check on him. Ensured that he is ok and that he still doesn't remember their 'dream' time together, she moves on again, happy to be with Robert.

But as all love triangles do, a dramatic turn happens and the rest of the book leaves Jenna torn between her first, true love and her soul mate. I can honestly say that I didn't know which guy Jenna was going to choose until it happened. Things go back and forth but ultimately I was very pleased. The author actually manages to do this is a classy way that does not make you hate Jenna which is a plus.

I will say that my only negative is it seems this book didn't flow as well as the first, especially towards the end. Time is skipped (only a brief period) and though we know who Jenna chooses, it would have been nice to see the thought process that went into that. And again, a dual or three person POV would have added a lot to this story.

Overall, LOVED this series and highly recommend. Even though this is paranormal, only a brief portion of the book takes place during a dream. Other than that, this is a traditional love story. AND if your guy doesn't get chosen, there is a novella, Falling Upward so that we get HEA's all around!
4.0 out of 5 stars OMG 8 January 2014

My aching heart! Gah! I can't deal with all the feels!

It's been a while since I read Falling In Between, but when I dove into this book, I returned to the story almost immediately. Everything came back like that *snaps fingers like a boss* and I couldn't believe I actually waited this long to finally uncover the ending of Jenna's story.

Falling Away was BY FAR so much better than the first book. In this book really get to know Evan/Chance in reality, and we get to see the chemistry between him and Jenna. I always routed for Evan/Chance, even in the beginning, if only for the connection they shared with one another. Robert was a sweetheart, but his actions in this book (along with his absence throughout most of it) sort of spelled out who Jenna would end up with.

I approve strongly of the ending! It ended so nicely, with Robert and Jenna able to get some closure and to part ways amicably. Part of me still aches for him, wishing he could find happiness, too, but Evan and Jenna belong with one another.

The romantic and sexual interplay between the two of them was quite tantalizing, and if I may be so bold as to add this...delicious, too. Ashley wrote the scenes quite well, and I could feel my own body tingle in all the right places when I read about Evan's sexiness.

Dat poker game, though... ;D Hot damn. I might give that game a try someday....

Needless to say, I enjoyed this book so much more than its predecessor! Recommended for anyone 16 and older; a great romance that tugs at the heart strings!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved this sequel!! 28 February 2013

Writing a review for a sequel is always so difficult. There is only so much that can be said without giving away the most important parts of the book. So, I am going to do my best to express how I felt while reading without spoiling anything for you.

I felt so conflicted the entire time I was reading this book. I love both Robert and Evan, so I never really knew who I wanted Jenna with and i honestly would have been happy no matter who she chose.

But when she was with one, my heart hurt for the other. It almost makes me understand why some authors kill off one of the guys when there is a love triangle going on! I would never be able to pick between these two on my own. Kudos to Ms. Ashley for not taking the easy way out on this and making a choice for Jenna.

I believe both Robert and Evan loved her equally. But there was no denying the connection with Evan was on a completely different level. But it was also easier to question that love because was it really real?? With Robert, she at least had a strong history and a real relationship to base her decision on.

Like I said, I would have been happy no matter who Jenna picked. There were a few times in the book I thought she was leaning towards one, but went with the other. And I think in the end, she picked the one that was the right fit for her.

This was a great sequel to Falling In Between and I felt things ended perfectly.
4.0 out of 5 stars Can Be read as a Stand -Alone 1 January 2014

Jenna has just completed her first two years of Community College and living happily with her boyfriend Robert and best friend Sophie and her fiance Jhett. This novel starts off with Sophie and Jhett planning their wedding and the thought of Jenna and Robert being next pops up. Jenna however isn't ready for it and it will start to develop into a major part of Falling Away as during a flower shop visit where Sophie and Jenna have gone to look at arrangements for the wedding, Evan pops up. At first I thought Evan was a ghost and in some way he is as he is in limbo. We learn that Evan has suffered a head trauma and is in hospital. Jenna goes to visit him and their odd relationship but not strikes up again. As the story goes on it gets Jenna wondering if she is to be with Robert or Evan. What will happen though when Robert believes she is cheating on him with Evan and kicks her to the curb leaving her with zilch, nada. What will Jenna do next ?
Falling Away is a Paranormal Romance with a New Adult Twist to it and though it is Book #2 in the series , it can be read as a stand-alone.
