Product Description

Mena Constantine is pissed off.
Finally freed from her fifty-year imprisonment by a maniacal leader, she is desperately trying to recover and get her life back. Problem is, the life she had is long gone. Struggling under the weight of her memories and healing from the wounds of her captivity, she can't seem to catch a break. Every waking moment, death seems like a relief she would welcome.

Asher Crane is a dead man.
As a Guardian to the King, his only purpose in life is to keep the King alive. And he's failing. Miserably. With the King ill, the Queen dying, and zero plans for a successor, he's pretty much screwed. Because if the King dies, the law says Asher dies, too.

As these two wounded souls collide in a series of bloody and unfortunate events, they will clutch to the last shreds of life before death beats down their door.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phoenix Rising... Again! 23 March 2016
By Nikki k - Published on

Mena's story is electric (pun intended). Having been imprisoned for the last few decades, Mena has a lot of catching up to do. First and foremost she must reconnect with her estranged sister and savior, Aurelia.Through circumstances beyond her control, Mena has been thrust into a war between the Phoenix and the Wraiths, a war that she is unknowingly about to be the star warrior in.

Asher knows instantly that Mena is his mate, but he has to convince her of this. He knows she feels it, but will she allow herself to give in to the bond they share? When Asher's path is cleared for him to pursue his mate, he makes it his mission to not only show her the love she has been denied, but to keep her safe at all costs.

As with Scattered Ashes, author Annie Anderson has created a fictional world that draws you in. I am not an avid paranormal reader, but this book and series keep me thoroughly entertained. My mind doesn't work really well in the fantasy realm, so the fact that I am kept intrigued is something to be said for the writing and story telling ability of the writer.

I love the relationships that form in this book and the paths they take. Annie Anderson does not just put Mena and Aurelia together and have instant sisters, she allows their relationship to grow and trust to build. From the reintegration of Mena into today's society, to the battle scenes and the oh so hot s*x, this book offers a bit of everything. There were ugly cry and thigh squeezing moments and then the occasional ...oh d*mn. Even if you are not a "paranormal fan" I would still suggest this book to you. Take a chance and read a great story. My only complaint.... the cliffie...GAH!!!! Why must I wait for more?????

I happily rate this book 5 stars.

**I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review, but I liked it so much, I purchased a copy

better than the first one! i loved it so much. this is book 2 and i do recommend you read book 1. This book picks right after book 1 left off and it moves fast!! Better progress with our characters, more development in the story and definitely steamy love romance! I Laughed and Cried again. i love Annie Anderson dedications... this one said " this book is dedicated to all those who think they can't go on. You can. i know you can. one more minute, one more step, one more breath. you can. i believe in you." It means so much. We have Mena and Asher. BEST COUPLE EVER. so sweet and thoughtful. #bookfriend goals# must read. If you think Aurelia had it bad, wait till you meet Mena. Twin sister to Aurelia. i think she had it worst. PLESE READ IT!!! asher and mena are meant to be and worth the reading.

Annie Anderson has gotten me addicted to this series!! It is so fabulous you won't want to stop reading it! Good vs. evil, love, hot and steamy scenes, family and friends, action, betrayals, twists and turn, jaw dropping moments. Everything is there. This story continues right on from the first and you see more of all the characters and some new ones. Worth every moment spent reading it and then some. Can't wait for more!!!

4.5 stars!!! Aww Mena and Asher. I was shocked how well she adapted considering her past. I know some people hate insta love. I think it worked with these two. Granted they went through their fair share of drama. A great PNR from an author I'm sure to follow!!!

Mena and Asher have a sad start... she was imprisoned for fifty years and he's got a death sentence!

Sad start, epic finish!

So much happens within these pages and Annie is very clever with her writing. I love PNR and this is definitely fantastic!
