A sweet enjoyable and quick read with lots of outside action/interference.
I liked it, but it also left me thinking it wrapped up quickly.
We have moved to a new shop in Colorado Springs for this series. Destination makes no difference to these people as they are the same likeable bunch no matter where they are situated. I do love the strong bonds with this series.
Unfortunately, someone does not want them in his town and causes a lot of hassle. I found this part wrapped up to quickly with not enough explanation. Was he simply nuts or really believed what he was spewing?
I find when I read these books as a binge session read, they have a sameness about them.
Sometimes the friends to lovers works well as it did in LOVE, HONOUR AND INK, but in this case, I felt it fell a bit flat.
Adrienne and Mace have been friends for a lot of years and through a lot of trials, especially for Mace as he has a daughter. Neither ever thought of the other in a romantic way and I am not sure why it changed now. There was no great aha moment just a very SLOW gradual build up to realizing their friendship had changed. But this is only after they start having sex which will always change the dynamics of a relationship.
Mace does the obligatory male head up his a** trick and hurts Adrianne.
I felt there was too much inner monologue and not enough explanation, like how could Jeanine, Daisy’s mother, abandon her child for a job in Japan.
Addi and Mace have been best friends for years. They went out with other people.
Mace is a single dad as his ex has gone to Japan for work and has signed over full custody to him.
Addi and her brother Shep have opened their own tattoo shop and are really excited that this has finally happened. They have a few incidents at the shop but they are Montgomeries.
Mace has wanted Addi from the start but Addi only saw him as a friend but lately she has been thinking of him in other ways.
This is an excellent book.
I received an ARC of this book for a review.

It's all getting a bit tropey for me. I enjoyed the beginnings of the original Montgomery Ink series, but it seems the author is over-using the same patterns. There is nothing much original about this book. Still a good read if you like hot men & ink.
Everything starts fine until someone takes offence that a tattoo and piercing shop opens up.
While dealing with vandalism of the shop and Mace’s ex showing up leaving his daughter with Mace without warning.
Things heat between them and they keep it secret trying to find out what it means and where there friendship is going.
I really liked that even though they’ve had feelings for each other neither had romantic feelings till they broke the deal and started getting physical between them.
Absolutely love this series and the other Montgomery series
