Took a little while to really get going, but once it did... boy did this story rocket along.
The premise was tantalising, the world building drew me in, but it was the characters that made me devour this book so quickly. They were fun, snarky, cruel and powerful. Everything that I could have hoped for in an urban fantasy series that I fully intend to continue on with.
Only small downside was that the book ends around the 70% mark, and the rest is just other book sample chapters which was rather annoying.
The world created is unique and complete. The color of action seems to pause midway to become the color of curtains and dresses but it picks up again. Nicely drawn characters who we feel for. A respectable volume one.
Hard to offer anything other than praise for the book as it is a great read. It has an excellent story, the interplay between the characters was totally captivating and kept my attention and interest. The main character is a kick ass heroin and I was a bit sad when I came to the end of the book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
