Product Description

Three intriguing Regency and Georgian romances in which the magical realm of Faery becomes involved in human affairs of the heart. Two have been published before, but one is completely new.
Jo Beverley is a member of the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame.
Romantic Times described her as "One of the most masterful writers of Regency romance..."
Publishers Weekly as "today's most skilful writer of intelligent historical romance."

The Marrying Maid. (First published in Songs of Love and Death)
Honorable mention for Science Fiction of the year, 2010
The aristocratic Loxleigh line has served Faery for generations and been favored as a reward, but now Rob Loxleigh has only days to find his destined bride or the bond will be broken and his family destroyed.

The Lord of Elphindale.
First published in Faery Magic, 1998
Gwen Forsythe is startled to be told that she's part Faery, and that she must marry into the human family of Elphinson to strengthen the Faery bond. It's not that she doesn't want to marry Sir Andrew Elphinson, her childhood friend, but Drew doesn't care for her and is about to offer for another lady. Can she really seduce him at Faery's command?

Titania's Gift
Never before available.
Sarah, Lady Jardine is a perfect Regency lady trapped in an imperfect marriage, but that's no excuse for slipping out of a country house to join in local, pagan revelry. She merely wanted a temporary escape, but she meets an extraordinary man on a Faery-blessed night and nothing can ever be the same. Except, she's a perfect Regency married lady.

Really enjoyed this from Jo Beverley. A little different to her usual books. I liked the short story format for a quick read

4.0 out of 5 stars I Think Titania and Oberon Were Our Awful Years-Ago Next-Door Neighbors 20 September 2015

Although I love science fiction, I've never been tempted to try books about fantasy and faeries, until this one. Jo Beverley writes so well, and reading an extremely good novella of hers years ago was what brought her to my attention.

The faery folk turn out to be rather nasty creatures who extend favors and good fortune to humans on a quid pro quo basis: you keep my culture going and honor me and I will give you love and good fortune.

In all three stories, the couple finds love because faeries, or rather Titania, their queen, causes their enchantment with each other.

That made me realize that what I enjoy about Beverley's books is her insight into the human psyche and her explanation of why two people fall in love. That is much more satisfying than to have love occur because it suits very self-serving supernatural creatures.

The stories are well written and I kept reading, but I don't think I'll go down the path to the bottom of the garden to visit the faeries again.
3.0 out of 5 stars If you like fantasy 11 October 2016

Generally I am impatient with its facile solutions for plot impasses. But JoBev's protagonists are likeable and their situations mostly intriguing, so these were amusing journeys through countries and social landscapes of their time. Enjoyable for a brief stay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faery Good Book! 10 September 2015

This book contains three short stories. They are all clever and romantic. Any Faery lover will be enchanted. They say you can't judge a book by it's cover, but in this case it's true. The cover is absolutely gorgeous!
4.0 out of 5 stars 3 Fantasy short stories 30 May 2016

3 short story, Fantasy romances set in Georgian & Regency England. Apparently all but the 3rd have been in other anthologies.

All 3 are 4 stars. The male lead in the second story acted like a douche, but redeemed himself by the end. JB at her finest!
