In the previous two books of this trilogy [which you *must* read first] a semi autistic genius made a time machine to go back and stop his not so genius but fully selfish, monomaniac, father from killing himself. This changed the future, badly. The not so genius father ordered his underlings back in time to find a trio of reluctanly heroic people who can save the world. Dangerous operatives from the future UK secret service found out about the time machine and stalked the heroes in attempts to own and control the device before all the dangerous operatives of every other secret service could get it.
The frenetic pace and continual exitement of the previous books continues with ever increasing temporal complexity while the casualty list keeps increasing exponentially. Meanwhile, amongst the mayhem, our heroes Harry the gigantic marine commando, Safa the Asperger's type police bodyguard, Ben the insurance assessor with secret hero thought powers, Miri the ex secret service mastermind, and Emily AKA Tango Two the turncoat from secret service, all experience the development of love AKA mutual comradely lusting in between bouts of the heat of battle.
I normally do not approve of SF yarns based on time travel but the characters in this series, the complexity of their adventures, the cracking pace of the action and the attention to detail in the important plot scenes made it all very enjoyable. Five out of five from me.
