Book 2 in the Bodyguards Inc. Series

When Bodyguard, Ben Collins, finds Daniel Lincoln in a room, hiding and hurt, he doesn't immediately think Daniel is the victim of abuse. Daniel is good at pretending and being a finalist in a TV singing competition he seems like he has it made.

But something about Daniel calls to Ben's need to protect and he hands Daniel a card to contact him if ever Daniel needed help. Abruptly, after one frightened phone call from Daniel, Ben is racing to Daniel's aid and what he finds is a horror he can't imagine.

Daniel is trapped in a relationship where anger and controlling hate are the only emotions he is given. When his boyfriend crosses the line and leaves Daniel vulnerable and broken there is only one man that he wants to call.

The sexy bodyguard who promised he could help him.

A fantastic book. Ben is a bodyguard working what he loves best. he gets a job guarding judges on a TV show when he sees one of the contestants hiding. A fearful expression on Daniel's face instantly pulled at Ben's heart strings....A great book that loved reading..A highly recommend read.. .

4.0 out of 5 stars Yummy another Hot Bodyguard 28 June 2014

Yes I am a sucker for a huge masculine man who rushes in and saves the day. Oh Ben is the perfect lover, and a softie to boot. Whilst Daniel is a mixed up ex junkie rock star who has had s***ty luck in finding his forever after partner, being used as a punching bag is not a lot of fun. I think this was more a sweet romance than the hot and sweaty one that I anticipated, but I still enjoyed the sex scenes. Once again RJ Scott has triumphed and written a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars yet another RJ classic 1 July 2014

There is only one complaint about this book; it's way too short.

We have here a vers well written suspense novel, that happens to contain a (gay) love story. The main thing is not the gayness of the story, but the suspense and the story about how one person can have control over someone else, even though that makes absolutely no sense to an outsider.
Reading this story puts yet another level to the understanding of how the human mind can and will be manipulated, even if it beggars belief.

It's one of these rare books that are written so well that it lets you picture the scenes on your inner movie screen as you read it, or in this case on ones inner TV screen, as this would make a wonderful base for another episode in the could-very-well-be brilliant TV series 'the body guards'. There is soon much potential in this author and this series. Please some producer pick it up.

I loved this. I downloaded it earlier today from RJ Scott's own site, Love Lane Books. I couldn't put it down. A perfect mix of passion, angst and love. It was wonderful.

3.0 out of 5 stars the show ends but he doesn’t forget about the beautiful but damaged singer 14 June 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This is book two in the Bodyguards Inc series but you do not need to read in order.
This one is about BI, employee Ben and his charge Daniel, an up and coming singer that Ben meets while working for a TV show in which Daniel placed third. During the first meet, Ben realizes that Daniel is in trouble but Daniel refuses help, the show ends but he doesn’t forget about the beautiful but damaged singer. Daniel realizes he’s in over he’s head and reaches out hoping against hope that the bodyguard will remember him because Daniel certainly remembered him. Unlike the first one I couldn’t get the personal connection between the two MC’s, not sure why? I liked how Ben was protective of Daniel, understanding Daniel and what’s he’s been through. How Ben even could relate to it on a personal level.
But I couldn’t connect with Daniel, all the inner dialog, belittling himself, even after he got out of the relationship. All the people around him loving him, coming from such a loving family, I get we can’t explain how the children turn out but none if it fit for me. Then to jump into another relationship, without therapy or some sort of help, I like my characters to be a little less co-dependent a little more in charge even if they are playing the victim. However, just like the first BI book, I really enjoyed that we got an Epilogue that gave months down the road, in which we got the verdict to Cam’s case and the fact that Daniel is getting the help he needs as well as other details. To little to late for me though. I was given a copy of this book exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to the series! 10 July 2014
By Nic - Published on Amazon.com

The Ex Factor was a great continuation of the Bodyguards Inc series. I think I particularly enjoyed it because I was drawn in by the abuse theme and appreciated the way it was handled.

The other thing I appreciated was the setting and relevance to current time. Ben is working security for a reality talent show and there are references to the contestants and the panel of judges. It all felt very familiar.

Daniel is a contestant on the show, who has worked his way into the finals. But for all his success with his music, he is not a happy man due to his long term abusive boyfriend. Luckily he has Ben to turn to.

I loved Ben and the way his protective instinct kicked in but more than that, I loved his own vulnerability.
"The men he slept with were within him for his size and his muscles. That wasn't him being prideful, that was just what they told him.

Not one of them actually wanted to talk to him, and only a couple actually wanted to kiss. Ben had top written all over him, but sometimes, just every so often, he wanted something outside the definition placed on him."

I really enjoyed the whole story and the characters and am now looking forward to the next book!
