'Everything You Told Me' by Lucy Dawson was a cracking read in the psychological thriller genre. It kept me totally focused from beginning to end. I enjoyed the British setting and language, too.
Lucy's writing was fluid, clever and believable. The characters, especially Sally (the MC and a woman under pressure), were well-developed. The plot was a labyrinth of mystery, twists and lies. The intense conclusion was simply mind blowing. I had my suspicions, but the storyline was so perplexing, I just wasn't sure. I highly recommend 'Everything You Told Me' to readers who love deliciously, suspenseful intrigue.

Sally wakes up in a taxi and is let out,on a cliff edge a long way from home. So begins a nightmare where she is protected by both her family and her husbands mother.
The story us well conceived and written in great detail, very great detail. Sally forms the opinion that her future sister in law is behind the events. Thus there is a game of cat and mouse which engulfs the whole family.
The end is quite surprising but perhaps not in the way you might expect especially if you have an inkling of the inconsistencies hidden in what is said as per the title.
I was impressed by this book with a lot of though put in by the author. If you have no time for detailed descriptions of difficult mothering problems then you might find this book is not for you. But then again if you appreciate that it is essential for the story I advise you to read the book.

You have my attention from the beginning to the end, an on the edge read. You have played the characters excellent, difficult to decide the guilty person and the surprise at the end. Keep up the good work. It is a clean read, thank you.
What I don't like: to use our Holy God's name, in vain...Why.?
Is it really necessary to use the F word, it is so harsh? Please resist using it.

I did enjoy this book though suspected the 'baddie' from the start.
It did get quite involved with other possible culprits and the ending was a little different than I expected but it was well worth reading.

I loved the twists and turns in this book. It captures you from the first page. And as for that ending !!!! Now that is the way to finish a thriller !! Jaw dropping stuff. Would totally recommend this book.

Not bad. I kind of half guessed the culprit, not realising there were more than one person conspiring against the main character. I liked this book. Lucy Dawson's books are a bit hit and miss with me, but I definitely recommend this one.

I liked the easy to read writing style... it was relatable to everyday reality at times - scarily so!

This book was a page-turner for me. I read it in one day so was pretty engaged with the story but was still surprised by the ending in a nice, Agitha Christy way. A great way to spend a day in bed!

A MUST BUY-MUST READ

This happens to be my favourite book by one of my favourite authors. I was gripped from the page until the very last word. There are twists in Everything You Told Me that I certainly didn't see coming and I enjoyed reading about all the little twist.
Sally in her pyjamas and a wax jacket woke up 300 miles away from her Kent home in a taxi but had the correct money of £400 to pay the taxi driver. She woke up in the back of the taxi with a hangover and completely disoriented and later was found at an edge of a cliff. How did sally get into the taxi in the first place? And how did she get the money of £400 to pay the taxi driver? Someone knows exactly how this happened to sally and why.

Gripping
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 May 2017Verified Purchase
I was hooked into this book from the first page and thoroughly enjoyed discovering why Sally has woken 200 miles from home in the back of a taxi with no knowledge of how she got there or the events leading up to her journey. We are lead to believe that she was intending to commit suicide, but she is adamant that this was definitely not her intention and the book follows the reasoning as she tries to discover exactly what happened on that fateful evening. Sally has struggled since the birth of her baby several months ago from sleep deprivation but she is coping just about. She appears to have a very supportive family around but are they all who they seem to be? You will have to read the book to find out!

VERY VERY BORING!!!

If you like hearing about endless children eating, endless BORING children and what they are doing with their food!!!! I tell you what don't waste your time or if you do read this book just skip to the last chapter.....YAWN.....I have never been so bored, I only finished it because, it was SO bad that I felt compelled to finish it so I could write an honest review. Im sorry but far toooooooooo much detail about stupid things, and not enough focus on what could have been a good story if it had not been so predictable.....I guessed what would happen into the 3rd chapter. NOT A GOOD BOOK

What a great book, at times I felt the book a little repetitive but as the story unfolds u can understand why the same things keep being said. Didn't see the ending coming. Will be looking out for other books by the author
