Product Description

Private investigator Lucas Holt is on a mission…

Lucas Holt specializes in kidnap recovery. Ex-Delta Force and a former NYPD detective, he has spent the last fifteen years burying himself in case files to cope with the unsolved abduction of his daughter, Marnie.

Janet Maxwell just can’t let go…

After the death of Janet’s husband and son in a tragic car accident, she hopes Holt’s expertise can locate the daughter she gave up for adoption seventeen years ago. Janet knows her actions will have explosive repercussions for the girl’s father— presidential candidate, Todd Grayson. With no family, hope of finding her only daughter is all she has left. Or is there a more sinister motive?

There’s no greater incentive for a father than protecting his daughter…

On a mission to bury the constant reminder of his failure to recover Marnie, Holt agrees to Janet’s proposal. But at what cost? When his inquiries lead to news of the death of another woman, Holt can’t shake the feeling something is off about the whole case. And when new evidence surfaces about Marnie’s disappearance, finding her and finding Janet’s daughter become the same treacherous mission.

Crooked candidates, hired mercenaries, and his own life on the line—will Holt find it inside him to risk everything in the line of duty?

There’s no telling how far you’re willing to go when you have…

Everything to lose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buried Alive 12 October 2016
By David Mallegol - Published on Amazon.com
Lucas Holt, a former military Delta Force operator will hold your interest. He is a specialist in recovery of kidnap victims yet he has a personal side that you will like. Holt faces a nearly impossible task of finding a young woman captured by an insane foreigner who makes no ransom demands but would rather watch his captive die for his own pleasure. Holt comes through but it nearly costs him his life. At the very end he gets a clue in regard to his own missing daughter. Exciting read. I have started the second Lucas Holt novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars a web of suspense 17 January 2016
By Philip Colon - Published on Amazon.com

With a perfect blend of modern and nostalgic suspense, "Everything to Lose" will keep you on your toes. The story is reminiscent of a good film noir classic mixed with the elements of the modern forensics shows. The main character, Lucas Holt, is approached by Janet Maxwell (the beautiful damsel in distress) to find her daughter, whom she gave up for adoption years ago. Lucas, perhaps against his better judgment, willingly accepts the mission. The danger is that he allows his own personal tragedy to drive him into this tangled web of a situation. But there's no turning back...and along the way he finds out that each thread of that web leads to an even darker place than the last. And everyone's motives are questionable, including his own. The ending will leave you wanting more, knowing that Lucas must continue his personal quest, along with unraveling the web of mysteries from which he is entwined.
3.0 out of 5 stars Confused 3 November 2016

I enjoyed this book to some extent. It had a good storyline, however, I would have to read it again to really understand all the names that were thrown throughout the story. I wished the relationship with Lucas and the sheriff, Maddie would have went further. The ending was good. Janet got good as she gave.
