How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Entertaining

This book's plot is passable. The writing is plain, nothing special about it. I think it's a shame, because the ideas in this book are original. The characters are believable, and make the book special. It's easy and enjoyable to read. I am questioning the way women are portrayed though, none of them the agent of their destiny.

Started off good then got too far fetched
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 March 2021Verified Purchase
I didn't think the book needed the romance with the next door neighbour it felt too cliched. Also the friendship with the boy's felt far fetched obviously a device to gain the digger knowledge but it stretched belief that the digger company would've helped tracing the machine back 11 years. Why would they help?
All it took to get answers was one phone call to aunt Laura why didn't Amy do that years ago? And Chantal hiding away to the point of not even being on social media but then just turning up at the house! And Jack just happened to turn up the same day! And I guessed it was him all along!

Amy as a character was interesting but the plot was poor. If this is the most heartwarming book of 2021, thank heavens it’s only February.
