This was a solid wrap up to the series, but just didn't quite hit the mark the other books in the series have done for me to date. The characters have been consistent throughout the series, the storyline engaging and well paced, and the secondary characters great support for Prophet and Tom. What didn't work for me in this book was the massive overload of plot twists and reveals that occurred in a very short timeframe. It was easy to get lost in all the changes and trying to keep track of who knew what, and what was really going on. Characters revealed to be double agents, betrayers or to have a new secret past that suddenly comes to light - just to name a few. Then the whole resolution of the John situation was very anticlimactic - something Tom himself points out. And yet that wasn't the end of the story, we then have a new antagonist to follow and hunt down in the last half of the book. I found it a little rushed and therefore lacking the attention to detail that we got in the earlier books.
I still enjoyed the series and would recommend it, I just found this book didn't hold the same standard as the previous books so I can't rate it the same.
Looking forward to trying other works by this author as I do like her style.
