It took a while to get into this book but my perseverance really paid off. Well written and paced just right to keep me page turning. The storyline meanders a little but gets to the point in the end and even leaves a cliffhanger ending that has me ready to re-engage with book two of the series. This is different, though in a good way. I’m a fan.
With out giving too much away this alternative mystery had me wondering where it was going. It was intriguing to map the progress of the lead character and explore a familiar but different Europe. Recommend to the reader who is willing to wander along pathways to see where they end up.
I also enjoyed the characters who were resigned to their lot in life (well mostly).
