Product description

Product Description

It is certainly known — although hardly ever is it a part of the contemporary education process — that ethics and economics evolved together as disciplines.

This is the third book of a four book series. In it Bruce Koerber connects the swirling waters of thought and the stepping stones of action, contributing to the science of ethics and to the science of economics.

When deductive reasoning is used to probe deeply into the intermingling of means and ends an artificial boundary is found which no longer needs to be held onto so rigidly since now the methodology of subjectivism has been used to create an ethical model capable of examining and constructing a bridge between transformation and the human spirit. Never before has there been a model that bridged ethics and economics.

This book introduces most readers to the history of economic and ethical thought that has been left unexamined; deliberately unexamined since — if armed with this knowledge — moral relativism and statism would no longer have a breeding ground.

The model in this book is used to show how ethics and economics are interfered with by those “who have no moral authority.” The negative consequences of their meddling is made clear and by using this model template as a tool — to prove that the charlatans have no moral authority — the argument for laissez-faire is significantly strengthened. The model has characteristics of simplicity and complexity and one interesting feature of this book is the insertion of known ethics, and then an examination of the economic content within.

What becomes evident is the vital connection between ethics and economics, historically, practically, and for the prospect of an ever-advancing civilization. All of this is embedded within a narrative that both a general audience and an ethics-minded and economics-minded audience will enjoy.
