The paper back version is the SAME EXACT book as the hard cover except $100 cheaper. The only downside is that the cover is fragile and molecules/diagrams are not in color.. but for me it wasn't a big deal.
I am very impressed with the book as it makes ochem easy to understand. The only thing I would add is that the newer version has more indepth information and the chapters are rearranged in a way that makes more sense.

I absolutely love this book for elementary organic. It explains everything so easily and in a way I could really understand. Whats really helpful is how it has practice problems after each section in each chapter, so by doing them after reading you actually remember the information. Well, you remember it more than if you didn't do the problems, anyway. I would recommend buying the answer key that goes along with it though because the answers that come in the back of the book are quite limited.
