Product Description

Welcome to the world of Blood Courtesans. Where vampires are real, rich, powerful--and hungry.

Money. Freedom. Escape. That’s my only reason for selling myself, body and blood, to Maxwell Steele, this cold and lethal being before me. I’ll go to any lengths to escape being a prisoner within a Wolf Pack, including offering myself as a Blood Courtesan to a powerful and deadly Vampire. First I have to escape the Pack, and my Alpha father. Will Maxwell be strong enough to protect me? I hope so: he’s my last hope for freedom and to live life as I want. I pray I’ll survive, and I pray I’ll keep my soul intact. My name is Flora and this is my story.

The Vampire Blood Courtesans: It’s not supposed to be about love…until it is.

“Flora, that’s a beautiful name,” Maxwell stares intently at me, his eyes raking from head to toe then back again, making my feet shuffle and my heart rate explode in my chest. “I think you’ll do nicely for my time here. Remember, Flora, you are mine for the duration of my visit. All mine. After I leave you will get paid and can go on with your life however you see fit.”

The Vampire Blood Courtesans Romance series is a multi-author series which are all standalone stories and can be read in any order with no cliffhangers.

Even Vampires do not like abuse, especially towards a family member. There are some that are plain evil, but most have accepted their plot and try to be better than is percieved, although circumstances can sometimes push them over the edge, which is what happen to Maxwell when he discovers Flora's flight from her wolf father.

Flora is a half breed daughter of an alpha who's life has been hell since her human mother died and her father claimed her. She is abused by him and the pack. Her only respite is when she works the packs stables of horses. But she wants to escape and is desperate enough that she steals a horse and rides towards an audition for Blood Courtesans, without knowing what she is getting herself into, but willing to do anything.

Maxwell is a powerful and bitter vampire returning to his home in Scotland after many years of avoiding seeing the man responsible for his mothers death and their vampirism, his father. He wants no relationship, only sustenance and sex after his long trip from the US to see to his dead fathers estate. But a disheveled and desperate bonie lass riding a horse like the devil is on her heals captures his attention and when he sees no way out for her from her father, he decides to do what he swore never to do.

Will the stoic Maxwell lose his dark heart and help Stella escape the clutches of her abusive father without causing an all out war?

Flora is desperate to escape her father and his pack, the man that never wanted her a 'halfbreed' but as Alpha, had no choice but to claim her when her mum died.
The bullying and abusive way Flora is treated by her father and the pack is too much to bear so when she sees a chance to escape she knows it's worth risking her fathers wrath.
Maxwell has returned to his childhood home to settle his fathers estate and is looking for a blood courtesan to serve his needs while he's there, when Flora arrives offering herself, he has eyes for no one else.
When Flora's very angry Alpha father comes demanding the return of his 'property' Max finds himself taking drastic action to keep flora safe.
I was totally caught up in Flora's desperation to escape a life not worth living, making this a riveting read and Max's drastic actions had me wide eyed and holding my breath. Loved it.

Escape: Flora by AK Michaels is a fantastic edition to the Courtesans series. Loved Flora and Maxwell's story.

Flora is hybrid, half human, half wolf, who has been left in the care of her abusive father. Nothing she does is ever good enough and she will do anything to escape. Even if it means selling her blood to get enough money to gain her freedom. Becoming a Blood Courtesan seems like the perfect job...

Maxwell Steele, a sexy vamp, has returned to Scotland to deal with his affairs. It's a long time since he's been home. He's in need of a Courtesan for the duration of his stay. When he sees Flora he knows she'll be perfect for the job. Even if he feels he's drawn to her for some strange reason.

Can Maxwell save Flora? Will he set her free?

5.0 out of 5 stars A distinctly Scottish slant on the series!!! 10 January 2017

I love this series of books and this little gem rates right up there. Flora is the put upon, abused and degraded daughter of a local Wolf Alpha. She can't shift and he enjoys coming up with cruel taunts and punishments for her. She finally sees a way to flee by signing up to be a Blood Courtesan. And wouldn't you know her luck, her Vamp is pretty much her new neighbour!

Maxwell Steele (previously Forbes) has returned to Scotland after centuries away to settle the estate of his long detested and now not so dearly departed father. He hated him for allowing the evil into their home which killed his mother and turned them into Vampires. His arrangement for feeding whilst at home has all been organised, but he never expected her to turn up at his door on a "borrowed" horse and fleeing like the hounds of hell are at her heels. Flora and Maxwell slowly bond over their time together, but will he throw her back to her pack once his business is concluded or will they have their HEA?

Flora and Max are a great couple. Flora is naive, virginal and spunky and has the mouth of a salty seadog! Max has forgotten what it means to be Scottish and it's hilarious as he tried to weather Flora's slang at rapidfire pace! Flora "beloved" father is a total nightmare on legs and lets just say that his fate is bloody, righteous and I must admit I was fair away with bloodlust myself when he meets his punishment.

The characters are full bodied and Graham and Isa may have little parts in the story but they are a really neat way of showing Max in another light, he wants no kowtowing and calling him Sir is a no no! Am I biased cos it's set in Scotland and written by a Scots author - you bet your ar$e I am!!! I am LOL at the the thought of my foreign book friends trying to get their tongues around some of the slang in this book. We have lots of words for idiot, dirty and drunk and you'll know more than a few Scottishisms by the end of this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Blood Courtesan story does not disappoint!! 11 January 2017

I absolutely loved this story!! Talk about from the frying pan into the fire…. Flora did not know her Alpha father until her mother passed away. Her father denigrates and abuses her as she is a half-breed. Her only chance for “Escape” is to audition for the position of blood Courtesan and get enough money to disappear.

She must “borrow” a horse from her father’s stables to get to the audition. Maxwell Steele is arriving by helicopter when he sees a young lady looking wild and free on the back of a jet-black gelding. The only predictable piece of the story is that Max selects Flora to be his blood courtesan; from there we have the threat of the wolf pack and the growth of the relationship between these two. Thrilling read!!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Blood Courtesans are addictive! 10 January 2017

This was a quick but enjoyable read, it reminded me of the of bodice ripping romances I used to sneak off my mum.
With the author's Scottish humour seeping into her innocent but determined character Flora and our Vampire with a conscience, who spots Flora riding on his land. And then finds her applying to be his Courtesan for his stay in Scotland. The story reminded of a few of my of my favourite films Highlander in some scenes I pictured Gothic mansions, wild moors and heather covered views and brooding skies. And Max reminded me of Carlisle Cullen with his reticence for hurting humans for food, I was quite sad when I got to the end. I could have easily read another books worth of the characters and their journey to their HEA

5.0 out of 5 stars Exhilarating 11 January 2017

What can I say about this book but, AWESOME!!! I got so wrapped up in the book I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. I was too excited to find out what was going to happen with Flora. Was she going to find true love, was her father going to get his due? So many questions you just have to have an answer to before you can stop reading. Then before you know it the book is read.

I haven't found a book that Ava has written that I haven't fell in love with and this one is no different. You will not be disappointed.

Until Next Time... Tabi
4.0 out of 5 stars Another great Blood Courtesan book. 22 January 2017

I have become a big fan of the "Blood Courtesan" series and this book did not disappoint. This story takes place in Scotland where Max, the vampire, has come to take possession of property left to him by his father....a man he despised and disassociated himself with not long after the death of his mother. While he only plans to stay in Scotland for as long as it takes to set matters to rights, Max will (of course) need blood. Imagine applying for a job as a blood courtesan to an old and powerful vampire. Flora does just that in order to get away from her abusive father. But Flora is a poor girl with only a shirt and pair of jeans to her name, and her only transportation is a horse. But with some help from a friend, she dons a decent dress and "rides" to the courtesan interviews at the vampire's castle. Amazingly enough, out of all of the beautifully dressed and coiffed applicants present, Mac chooses Flora. What follows is her indoctrination into the life of a blood courtesan. And, of course, what starts out as a business transaction (where she will make more then enough money to leave Scotland and get far away from her abusive father), turns out to be so much more. As the saying goes, "It's not supposed to be about love....until it is." I would recommend this book to fans of the blood courtesan series.
