This is our first little people big dreams book and it did live up to the hype in my opinion. I can already tell we will be working up a collection of these people in this series.
I was surprised by this one, as at the time I ordered it I honestly didn’t even know who this guy was (and I have a college education). I found myself just as interested as my 5 year old (grade k) in what this guy did and what it was all about.
The length is reasonable- not too short and not too long- it’s just right.
There’s lots of pictures and they are very fun and colorful to keep the kids interest with lots to see and look at on each page as you read to them.
I feel like it’s a book you could read many times to multiple kids and you wouldn’t get tired of it the way you might with a repetitive book.
This book series has a bit of a cult following, and I can now see why.
The quality is great, the writing is good, and I hope that it makes my kids into little history buffs.
The overall message and goal is historical knowledge- but it’s done in a fun and sneaky way.
There’s lots of animals thrown in (kids love animals in books).
Overall I’d recommend it.
