Product Description

Joss Parker’s life is a fairy tale come true. She’s a concert pianist in New York who lives with her longtime boyfriend and is close with her fiercely protective father—until one fateful night when she is taken in the middle of the night.

In a desperate attempt to access a program that could be a threat to national security, her ability to play the piano is threatened. Her world comes crashing down when her father puts his need to protect a program over his own daughter.

At the last minute, Joss finds herself whisked away by an unlikely ally.

She later lands in the protective custody of none other than small-town bad boy and bar owner Derek Slade. Slade is entrusted to look after Joss and see to it that she hides behind her new persona, Jill, so that bad people don’t find her ever again.

Joss has been erased. Joss is now Jill.

As Joss trades her blond locks for Jill’s mahogany ones, she also takes on the strength of her new persona. Jill is someone who doesn’t put up with crap. Jill doesn’t trust easily. Jill must protect the broken heart of Joss.

Joss and Slade battle an intense attraction, but she isn’t the only one with secrets. Behind Slade’s silver eyes are mysteries he’s unwilling to share. Slade knows better than to get involved with Joss, yet he finds it nearly impossible to push her away.

What happens when Slade crosses the line of protector? Can he protect her when the evils of both of their pasts come back to haunt them?

A typical suspense, guy protecting girl, falls for girl story. Joss/Jill changes her identity due to safety issues after threats to her life because of her father. Derek guards her at his bar. The baddies continue to chase & he uses his skills to rescue her. Naturally there's a connection & it becomes more.
I enjoyed this quick, slightly hot story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this!! 4 July 2016

This is an insanely amazing and very well written dark read that blew me away and I loved every second of reading this! This is the second collaborative work I've read by these two authors and all I can say is that when they both put their heads together beautiful magic happens and I hope they do this many more times into the future! Joss/Jill and Slade/Derek are amazing together and I couldn't get enough of them! There's a significant amount of suspense going on to the point where this had me flipping through the pages since I just had to know what was going to happen. I fell head over heels for Slade/Derek from the second he's introduced and knew Joss/Jill didn't have a hope of not falling for this bad boy. I'd be his cupcake any day of the week. I am now going to patiently wait for the next amazing book from these two authors so I can get my much needed fix. I highly recommend reading this to anyone and I need more books from these authors right now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book 25 July 2015

Joss is kidnapped in the middle of the night by someone close to her who wants something from her father. In the blink of an eye, she's saved and her entire past is erased. Joss no longer exists - now there is only Jill. Slade is her very attractive savior and owns the bar where she will be working. The chemistry between them is not only immediate, but intense. The problem, Slade doesn't think he's good enough for Joss and attempts to deny his feelings for her and push her away. He's determine to keep her safe no matter what it costs him.

This is a romance/suspense book. I enjoyed the characters and liked the plot of the story. You'll fall for Slade. He tries so hard to push his feelings for Joss aside and in doing so, he comes across as a jerk. But because we are provided both his and Joss' POV, we know it's costing him to act that way. He's so protective over her and genuinely only wants what he feels is best. When Slade finally gives in to his feelings, you can tell just how perfect these two are for each other. Joss is also a very likeable character. Becoming Jill makes her stronger.

Overall, I enjoyed this story and will read more from this author. It's got a nice epilogue too.

This wasn't a very long story that kept me interested from the very beginning.

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable 7 September 2015

Joss is pretty happy with her life having her dream job, a boyfriend and a very protective father. Everything is great until suddenly it's not. She is kidnapped with every trace of her erased like she never existed. She's sent to live with someone she's never met and given a new identity because a person she has known and loved her entire life wants a password that she doesn't know! Her father has the password but will not give it up so Joss becomes Jill and moves on with her new life.

Derek Slade gives Joss/Jill a new life with a place to live and a job in his bar. He agreed to give Jill what she needed to start over and also to protect her. They didn't expect to fall for each other but when they did, it made everything tougher for them. What happens when this is over and Jill goes back to being Joss?

Erased is an enjoyable story with moments that made me feel happy as well as sad. I would have liked more description on Slade's back story. I guess I like everything spelled out since I don't have much of an imagination. I didn't understand Uncle Mick's connection to him. I was also confused about what Gideon was doing (double crossing Bruce?).

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, spunky characters 27 July 2015

Joss/Jill/J/Cupcake goes by a lot of names. She is living the dream until she awakens in a nightmare. Stolen from her apartment in the middle of the night, she finds herself as the bargaining chip in a deadly situation.
Derek goes by another name but she is only aware of what he's told her. He's her protector. He's also trying desperately not to f@#k her. Her innocence and gorgeous looks are killing him but her fire is making him hurt so bad he's hanging on by a thread.
When that thread snaps, he unleashes a world of trouble. He's no longer able to be objective and that will cost them both.
Great, quick read. Love that the authors each took on the voice of their character. It really flows. Hope they are willing to do it again.

Thanks KU
4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing suspense romance with LOTS of heat! 5 February 2016

4 out of 5 stars

This book was hard to categorize for me which made it that much more appealing. It wasn’t a mystery because I knew what the issue was, but it was suspenseful trying to figure out how it would all play out. It definitely wasn’t erotica, but holy cow were some of the scenes H O T!!! It wasn’t a sappy tale, but I did find myself with tears in my eyes when the characters would get especially emotional.

Both Derek & Jill/Joss are leading double lives and they don’t know the whole story behind each others and yet somehow they find something they both need with each other. After their first sexual encounter, Derek promises that we won’t go back for more and yet he can’t help but feel the need to protect her:

And each night after close, I lie in my bed and wait. Eventually, the screaming starts and I rush over to hold her until she calms down. She never once wakes up, and I grasp her tightly in my arms until the sun begins to crest over the horizon. Then I slip back into my own bed and fall into a restless sleep.

The whole story is based on the fact that Joss has been erased and is forced to become Jill and Derek is supposed to be protecting her -- not falling in love with her. I enjoyed the way it all played out and I am eager to read more from these authors.

For a story written by two people, it flowed pretty well and there weren’t any major issues while reading. I think it could use a little editing and a couple of places where the story didn’t quite match up (like was she born Christmas Eve or in the summer), but overall the story was great and included just enough of everything to make it worth reading.
