This is the 7th chapter in the Frontiers Saga, and again, Ryk Brown delivers a brilliant account of the current adventure of the Aurora’s crew.
This book was actually quite different to the first 6, and I found it a nice change. It was good to see that the Author has the ability to expand beyond just the epic space battles when the crew starts to travel between systems.
This is the story of what happens when the crew of the Aurora finally leaves the Pentaurus Cluster and heads home.
There are many questions that need to be answered, what has happened to Earth? What has happened with the Jung? How many jumps exactly to get home? What awaits them on the way home?
This is a fantastic story that attempts to answer these and many more questions with some very clever answers, some of them that you won’t see coming.
The Author has also taken the opportunity to explore several of the secondary characters in this book, which is really great to get a more in-depth feel for other non-official members of the crew, such as Josh and Loki.
Again, his story telling and his characterisation are exceptional, leaving you not only hanging on every page, but wanting more.
This is a great fun read, something that keeps you entertained, is not difficult to digest, and is just great Science Fiction that continues to deliver well into its 7th book. A Must Have if you have been reading the series to find out what happens to the crew.
