I loved Enzo and Aibhlinn's friendship dynamic, but hated the fact that he loved her but staunchly refused to commit to her because of his past. He had no problem being a manwhore but he kept himself from giving Aibhlinn his heart because he felt too damaged for her. Aibhlinn definitely had supreme patience in waiting for Enzo to come to his senses and claim her and fortunately he did before losing her forever. All it took was a rival for her affections and a darling little baby to spur him into action. And when he acted...the boy did it in hyper speed which in itself almost caused an issue between he and Aibhlinn. Poor Enzo! He truly meant well but struggled with finding the perfect balance to forging a relationship with Aibhlinn. You loved him for his efforts though :).
Because this story was fairly short at just under 200 pages, the story line with Keir and the IRA felt rushed. Consequently, the story climax felt so as well. You get all these details about Aibhlinn's father and the IRA and their machinations in a tight cluster so it was difficult to process them in addition to the rapid changes in Enzo and Aibhlinn's relationship. It could be possible that Colt isn't finished with that story thread. If that is the case, it makes sense the way it felt as if it didn't have a thorough completion in Enzo. I hope that is the case.
Overall, Enzo was a sweet and sexy read and I look forward to reading about the brothers.
Full disclosure disclaimer: there are a few editing challenges in the form of incorrect homonyms but not enough to detract from the story.
There's twists and danger throughout the novel as the past comes back to haunt them in various ways. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series.
