Too Short & Rushed For My LikingReviewed in the United States on 3 November 2016
This is the story of a fierce Viking and the strong Celtic beauty forced to marry him in order to save her people... Well, this is definitely a "short" story which was over even quicker than expected. I figure it maybe took me twenty minutes, so if you read it very slowly you may be able to pull thirty or so out of it if you're lucky. It ended at 57% and loc 295 of 518 on my kindle, the rest of it was a sample for another of the author's books. The story takes place on the west coast of Ireland in the year 857 and the entire tale takes place in a day, just a matter of hours really. There's no time for character development and the whole thing, even the bedding, was rushed. Konrad and Brigid never felt real, and though Brigid had potential, there was no time for her to live up to it. I bought this because of the positive reviews, but I have to disagree with them. Although I only paid $0.99, that's still too much in my opinion. Overall there's not much to it, not even a declaration of love, and my final thought was "That's it?"

A very short storyReviewed in the United States on 1 April 2019
A really, really short story. Good characters and a very fast read. There’s actual not enough here to make for a meaty read, but it could suffice for a lunchtime dalliance through the fictional world of medieval times.

Grabbed my attention.Reviewed in the United States on 15 September 2016
This short story packs a punch and makes you wish for more which thankfully you can get in Warrior's Conquest. Elle James is wonderful at grabbing the readers interest and getting you to want more. Don't pass up this up because it will satisfy your craving in a longer story.
