Product Description

Once a Disciple, forever a Disciple.

They came for her in the night.
When she wakes, she’s in a cell.
She has no idea if it will help, but it is the only option she has:
She tells them she belongs to the Savage Disciples MC.

A Disciple will fight like a savage when it counts.

Years ago, he lost everything.
Now, the club is the only thing Jager allows himself to care about.
Nothing matters but his Savage Disciple brothers.
At least, until she arrives and he has a decision to make.

This biker has no idea what choosing to engage could mean to a Disciple's daughter.

This novel contains explicit sexual situations, violence, and offensive language, and is recommended for audiences 18 years of age and older.
It can be read as a standalone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, Action-Packed, and Full of Feels! 3 November 2016

Drew Elyse delivers another sassy, sexy, smart Disciples’ Daughter with Ember in Engage. From the first page to the last, Ember’s story was action-packed, emotionally charged, and delightfully steamy. She and Jager were absolutely electric and I found myself instantly hooked on their heady chemistry and significant connection. Ember and Jager not only shared a palpable sexual tension, but also plenty of witty banter, delicious flirtations, and a soul-deep understanding of one another that ensured my total investment in their happily ever after. I also loved getting another glimpse of several series favorites. The inclusion of these familiar faces guaranteed that Engage wholly embodied the feeling of family that Drew Elyse has so carefully crafted amongst her MC men and gave Ember and Jager’s story an addictive edge that kept me flipping the pages.

I really enjoyed unraveling both Ember and Jager over the course of this novel. Both characters had been through some seriously dark moments and the pain they carried definitely made for plenty of intrigue. Drew Elyse seemed to have carefully constructed the many layers of these characters, revealing them at just the right time to hit her readers hard. Ember’s relationships with the other woman helped with her overall character development, allowing us to see sides of the complicated and damaged woman we might not have otherwise known. In turn, Jager’s relationship with his brothers brought a smile to my face. The respect, loyalty, and unconditional love they shared with one another allowed me to appreciate the true depth of this character, despite Jager’s closed off attitude and overabundance of rough edges.

As much as I loved the story between Ember and Jager, some of the peripheral relationships were lacking in this novel. For example, Ember’s mother seemed almost unnecessary. Ember’s brief interaction with her mother sparked my dislike for her only to never be sufficiently explored. Also, while Engage is definitely a standalone novel, there were moments where I thought the story got lost in a lack of information. There were quite a few times where Ember and Jager’s own journey was compared to what happened between Ash and Sketch or Cami and Gauge and Jager’s role in their books was mentioned but not with enough substance to really make sense. It felt like there were moments that relied upon the reader having previous knowledge and, for those who haven’t read Clutch or Shift (or read them a while ago), this made it difficult to fully appreciate both the storyline and extent of the relationships in Engage.

One of the things I really enjoyed about Engage is Drew Elyse’s obvious growth in terms of overall storyline development. This novel in particular, really set up the series as a whole to be something more than just a collection of individual love stories. Engage got down and dirty with MC business, delivering a much deeper look at the inner workings of the Disciples. By the time Ember and Jager’s story came to a close, I was all revved up and ready for the next part of the series. Drew Elyse also did a great job pacing this novel. I felt everything as I read, taking in the heart-pounding action, thrilling suspense, and all-consuming emotion of Ember and Jager’s journey. Drew Elyse’s writing was fresh, fierce and adorably feisty, the perfect voice for her vibrant, captivating, and emotive characters. A fun, sexy, and surprising ride of its own, Engage is definitely a great addition to the Disciples’ Daughters series.
