Product Description

Alisa Marchenko has reunited with her daughter, and even though she hasn’t figured out how to get Jelena to accept Leonidas yet, she dreams of the three of them starting a new life together. They can return the Star Nomad to its original purpose of running freight and staying out of trouble (mostly).

Before that can happen, Alisa must fulfill the promise she made to Jelena: that she and her crew will retrieve young Prince Thorian, the boy who has become Jelena’s best friend. But Thorian was kidnapped by the rogue Starseer Tymoteusz, the man who wants to use the Staff of Lore to take over the entire system—and the man who may have the power to do it. Alisa doesn’t know why he kidnapped Thorian, but Tymoteusz once promised to kill the prince, so she fears they don’t have much time.

Unfortunately, Tymoteusz hasn’t left a trail of breadcrumbs. Finding him will be difficult, and even if they’re successful, facing him could be suicidal. To have a chance of surviving, Alisa will have to come up with her greatest scheme yet.

You know sometimes you follow a series and it has a very disappointing ending and you just grumble because you've invested so much time in it?

Well, not this series. Fallen Empire as a whole series is very fast-paced, full of adventure but also have lots of human touch in it.
For End Game itself (finished it in 5 hrs, work slightly neglected), all of the endings are nicely tied up and happy, but not "Hollywood" happy, if you know what I mean. It is tidy and a lot of the questions got answered nicely, and yet, the possibility of spin-off series is still there too.

You definitely needs to read this as a whole series, and it is worth the time and investment!

This whole series was excellent. The pacing was fast and the action was plentyfull. The characters were well fleshed out and human, the interactions between characters made the story. All the threads came together in a satisfying way. The ending was happy without being sickly sweet or overly sentimental.

Fittingly, the last book in this series is the best.
You know the plot if you have read the previous seven books in this series. All of the previously established plot threads come together in the conclusion to this tale. One of the sub-plots has been concluded - Alisa Marchenko, captain of the Nomad has been reunited with her daughter but that tale does not end there. Can Marchenko reconcile her daughter with her new cyborg lover and can she rescue her daughter's best friend from the rogue StarSeers?
As you would expect, there is lots of action and the crew of the Nomad must battle not only the rogue StarSeers but also the forces of the ruling alliance, the remnants of the empire, assorted Mafia clans and the odd pirate. That leaves another issue to be resolved, after everything else has been done and dusted, will the Nomad's crew and passengers ever be able to make peace with anyone who is left around or will they still be on the run from somebody?
It is a good book to wrap up the series and I am pleased to have come this far on the Nomad's journey.

I gave this one five stars because it came together so nicely. I would love to recommend this series to anyone that has space dreams or fantasy's. It has a lot of everything, detail, intrigue, warmth and sex (rare but it is there)with a few touches of compassion thrown in. Then we musn't forget the extremely dry sense of humour which had me laughing at the most inappropriate times. A most enjoyable series, which l looked forward to the next book as soon as l had finished the last. Thankyou.

if you love space opera, firefly, laughing whilst reading and reading about eclectic misunderstood characters trapped together on a spaceship than quite frankly this series is for you. If the above is not your normal type of books still give it a go as i would be shocked if you didnt find them highly entertaining. From the first book I was hooked and eagerly awaited each new book in the series. Lindsay has woven a complex story line around amazing character's each with their own agenda with what must feel to them like the whole universe is either trying to kill them or capture them. All the captain wants is to find her daughter but trouble always finds them. Highly recommended.

I enjoy Lindsay's Buroker's style and voice, and her writing only gets better with time. The set-up is similar to Firefly, but instead of a swashbuckling male captain, we have a determined mother trying to do her best for her daughter and the rest of her passengers. Witty dialogue and a comfortable romance tie this series up into a great escape.

I have read almost all your books and really enjoyed them. I will recommend to my friends who are into this sort of stuff. I am usually a fantasy only type of person but I think your sci-fi has given me some encouragement to go somewhere new. Thanks and looking forward to what you come up with next.

The final book in the series, this was perfect. As with the other books, the writing was wonderful, the plot exciting and the characters interesting. This was a great ending to a great series.
