Product Description

Anna Kirby is sick of dating. She's tired of heartbreak. Despite being smart, sexy, and funny, she's a magnet for men who don't deserve her.

A week's vacation in New York is the ultimate distraction from her most recent break-up, as well as a great place to meet a stranger and have some summer fun. But to protect her still-bruised heart, fun comes with rules. There will be no sharing stories, no swapping numbers, and no real names. Just one night of uncomplicated fun.

Super-successful serial seducer Ethan Scott has some rules of his own. He doesn't date, he doesn't stay the night, and he doesn't make any promises.

It should be a match made in heaven. But rules are made to be broken.

The Empire State Series comprises the novellas A Week in New York, Autumn in London and New Year in Manhattan.

For a relationship that was meant to be based on communication and no BS, there certainly was a lot of miscommunication between the H and h. But that's what makes the happily ever after even better.

I loved the storyline, the banter between the two characters, the definite sexual chemistry, and the destiny styled plot.

I would highly recommend ready this novel (if you don't like cliffhangers, buy the box set, as each book ends in a huge cliffhanger).

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this Series 19 March 2015

Loved this Series!
I can not say how much I loved this series. These are my first Louise Bay books but they will NOT be my last. I loved Ethan and Anna! Anna is strong and Ethan is sexy! I loved the instant connection between these two and loved the journey they had to take.
They both think theirs is one week of fun in New York while Anna is on vacation. What an amazing week it was! They are funny and enjoy each other's company. Trying to keep their time together light and fun but secretly thinking maybe there could be more. There is time apart and hot steamy times together. They are both willing to make sacrifices for each other and that is what is most enduring about this love story.
I found these stories refreshing and found myself routing for this amazing couple. I loved how much Ethan grew as he fell more in love with Anna. Pick this series will NOT be disappointed.

I downloaded the audio of this series because I was driving 8 hours alone and wanted to listen to Sebastian York's voice 😊. I went into this completely blind. I grappled with either a 3 or 4 star review. I ended on 3. Its more like 3 1/2.
It is written well and the characters were not 1 dimensional. I liked that Anna was also a lawyer who could take care of herself just fine. My issue is the story was 1 dimensional. There really isn't anything that happens. There's never really a peak point or drama at all to make the story interesting. I did like it enough though, to keep me reading/ listening. And I did care what happened to the characters but it lacked suspense.
Also be warned - Sabastian York has a sexy male voice, but he CANNOT do a British female voice. At times, when he was narrorating, he made Anna sound like a mentally challenged person. It was bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great little read! Definitely worth it! 24 February 2015

A week in New York was a fantastic beginning to what promised to be an amazing story! Great characters, wonderful storyline, and hot steamy sex...what could be better?! Not a damn thing!

A wonderful addition to the Empire State Trilogy! The storyline and character development in this installment added to the already great story. A few new characters were introduced as Evan's family. Evan and his sister have an awesome silly and playful relationship and yet still have those times of worry for one another. It adds to the already "perfect" feel of Evan as man. Anna is a bit more confusing. Her feelings are all over the place. I hope Evan and Anna can come together in an epic way in the final installment.

New Year in Manhattan was a fantastic ending to this story! Everything I love in a Happily Ever After was all present and accounted for. I wish there were more books to this series filled with more of Ethan and Anna's journey in life together!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet, Simple, Sexy Romance 14 March 2015
By Blissfully Booked - Published on

Let me preface by saying this the first time I've read anything by this author. I'm glad I came across this book, as it was a good place to start.

The story is told from a dual P.O.V. The conversational style of writing was very entertaining. I laughed often as I did not mind being inside of the character's heads. The internal dialogue was just as amusing as the two character's sexy banter with one another.

The plot is simple -
Two people meet at a night club. Our Hero is a native New Yorker. Our Heroine is from the UK on vacation for one week in The Big Apple. She's going through a dry spell after a breaker-up and he's not interested in the complications of a committed relationship. He's handsome and successful and she's a beautiful professional working her way up the corporate ladder in London Town.
Finding one another attractive - They hook up for a one-night-stand. -VERY PLAUSABLE-

This is no instantly in love scenario. The author allows these two people to develop a relationship. The romance drifts seamlessly from the pages as they do eventually Fall-In-Love.

The conflict -
The distance of 3000 miles. They live on two different continents.
The author didn't use angst and forced stupidity to weave this story into the colorful tapestry that it is (I hate those). There is no underdeveloped over the top irrational story line. The reader will easily enjoy the simplicity. It was refreshing, as there biggest issue was distance.
Read for yourself and find out if these two can work through their self-inflicted, NO BULLSH!! rules, and overcome distance and time zones.
*****Highly Recommend*****

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed feelings 22 August 2015

I have mixed opinions about this story. First off I think the writing was done really well. I loved Ethan, it was nice knowing he didn't have a horrid past and that is why he never wanted to settle down. I can understand why Anna felt the way she did about relationships but she started to drive me crazy after a while. In a way I think she worse than most "man whores" I have read about. This is where I began to have an issue with their story. What was supposed to be a one night stand turned into a week long fling. Ethan and Anna had amazing sexual chemistry and the sex scenes were shot but I feel that is all this story was. There was very little story, you don't really find out too much about these characters. You meet Ethan's friends but you don't know much about him except his no bulls*** rule. With Anna you find out she hasn't had too much luck with past boyfriends. But that is really it. If you are looking for a book with a lot of sex than this is a good one, but if you want a story to go with it then you aren't going to get much here.
