From the first page until the last this twisty, sexy goodness will leave you begging for more. Dane and Cooper were tasked with protecting Emily from a stalker, One look was all it took for the guys to realize that they have found the woman that was meant for them. Emily on her last leg from constantly being stalked decides to try one more tactic before giving up all hope, by going to Maxwell Secures to see if they can help her. From their first interaction to the last these two help her become whole again and let her know that she's perfect for them. The characters that KL Donn creates feels like family to me, and I love them all even when they act all stupid. They give you no choice but to care for them, to worry about them, and to feel for them through the good and the ever so horrible. Be warned that something terrible and heartbreaking happens in here to a character we know an love, but when the tears dry up, you know that everyone will be okay because they have each other, they have a family that will do what they can to protect each other always.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good but had some flaws 23 November 2015

I'm a sucker for a hot bodyguard/damsel in distress book. This one had a lot of promise but fell short in a few ways. First, I never really got a good sense of Emily's personality. She was being stalked, OK. She was occasionally feisty. She fell for the mem, fine... But WHO she? Did she have hopes, dreams, quirks? Even by the end of the book she still seemed like a mystery to me. Second, I didn't buy the almost insta-love the men felt. It all just seemed too quick with not enough "getting to know you" scenes to fill out the story. Third, weird scenes like the men literally pulling guns IN Emily's hospital room when a nurse (who doesn't bat an eyelash at this) walks in but then 2 seconds later the same nurse freaks cuz the trio are in a menage. Huh?? Or when Emily, the heroes, and their friends are going over her case and while the heroes and Emily are practically grinding her on their lap. Like, WTF? I'm all for sexy time but as detailed and graphic as the threat to her was described, it never felt like Emily took the threat seriously. Fourth, weird asides in the story about Keeley's dad being killed (which was dealt with in about 2 paragraphs) and Emily's mom getting married near the end. Talk about out of the blue non sequiturs! Overall, my favorite character was Nate & Ty's sister, Kennedy. LOVED her. I felt like I understood her 10x more than Emily. I cannot wait to read her story--I think it will be a tear jerker for sure. So, in the end, this book was just OK but I would read this author again.
4.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Fight a Shadow 10 January 2017

Emily, Dane, and Cooper team up to catch a madman, but instead, or rather, meanwhile, explore their phenomenal chemistry together. Emily has a little bit of an inconsistency issue, in that she is portrayed as being both seriously concerned about her stalker, ready to give up, and simultaneously, blissfully unaware that even with a slippery felon on her trail, that her actions might have consequences. Dane and Cooper, as best friends and not related, get a little more freedom between the sheets with their woman. The fact that Emily's happy ending carries such a terrible cost, is a bit disturbing, to be honest, but it's not necessarily an impediment to the triad's love; indeed, Donn does a pretty good job using it as a binding mechanism for the relationship.

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT BAD 11 April 2016

It was a little hard for me to get into the story in the beginning. And the reason was Emily. I couldn’t like her or more correctly connect with her. Yeah, who know how I would act being in her situation, but she came to me to... Soft? Weak? Fragile? I can't find the right words to describe how Emily appeared to me. I was a little annoyed and disappointed. She would always loose herself and reality around her when s*** hit the fan. Maybe two years on the run can extinguish the fight in her, but I didn't saw that strength to begin with. I couldn’t find strength in her, that would make me think 'Yeah, this girl is a fighter. ' I kept hoping for fire to show up, but.... Though on one critical moment I saw it in her, but I think it was a little to late for me to forge any connection with Emily.

On the other hand, I didn't had any problems with Coop and Dane. Yeah, like I could ignore those alpha hotties. Lol.

At the end, to sum up the story, I think I need to answer one question. Would I recommend this book? Yeah, I would. The story itself was really good and flew flawlessly. Had some sweet and really hot moments. And just because I got issues with Emily, it doesn't mean someone else will. It may be one of the best books you read so far. So, give it a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars This series just gets better. Another emotion packed book 22 February 2016

This series just gets better. Another emotion packed book! Emily is being stalked and has been on the run but he keeps finding her. She finally turns to Maxwell Securities for help. Dane and Cooper are assigned to protect her. The relationship that evolves with Emily, Dane and Cooper is hot! The stalker gets to Emily and her friend Kennedy and kidnaps them. Brutally traumatized is putting it mildly. I am so wrapped up in these characters, OMG!!! Rescued but so broken! Again burned through the pages of this book. Got to have more, on to book three.
