Once again, Vince Ramsey is called upon to complete an impossible mission, this time hunting stolen Nazi artifacts all the way to their secret Antarctic base. While there, under impossible conditions, he is able to uncover some of the most amazing discoveries known to mankind. The question is, will he make it out alive to make the revelations to the world?
The third and final installment in the Vince Ramsey trilogy jumps right in without much exposition, but is easily readable if you are picking it up before the other two. As with the previous two books there are some grammar issues - though fewer - but enough to be noticeable, particularly when it comes to sentence fragments. I also thought it was interesting that this book shied away from the supernatural element that was integral in the prior two books, although I did not think it detracted from the story necessarily. I actually thought this one was a little short and wrapped things up too neatly; I would have enjoyed a little more fleshing out of connections, characters and context. However it’s a nice wrap up to characters who have been through a lot and hopefully we will see more from Mr. McPike.
