Product Description

A Mastyr Vampire. A beautiful fae Protector. Two hearts in the wild. Passion ignites for this blood rose and her mastyr vampire, but will the burdens they carry keep them apart?

For two-hundred-years he’s lived a solitary existence until a beautiful fae, with enormous power, disrupts his world…

Mastyr Vampire Malik has only one goal: to serve the realm he loves. Battling both the dreaded Invictus wraith-pairs and an element in Ashleaf Realm that wants all innocent wraiths dead, Malik can’t afford to get distracted. But Willow has already become an obsession as he lusts for the powerful fae whose blood he craves. In turn, Willow has her own duties to attend to as the Protector of a large, vulnerable wraith colony. Without her shield, the innocent wraiths will be caught by the malevolent Society, a group intent on killing all wraiths and half-breeds. But her drive toward Malik, her need to be with him, to feed him, overrides her rational mind. Passion storms through her life, changing everything. But at what cost to herself, to Malik, to the entire Realm?

Embrace the Wild
*Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review*
So many important things about the realms and their inhabitants are revealed in this instalment. This was a lovely and straight to the point story, no messing around. I liked that a lot. I also loved that as Willow’s home was described, I could imagine myself walking through it, it was so vivid.
I finished this one waayy too quickly, and now I play a waiting game for the next one *sigh* It absolutely cannot come soon enough. I love how these stories fire my imagination, they make me itch to pick up my pencils and brushes and bring the terrain to life on my canvas. One day.

What another sensual read, Caris. I honestly thought both Willow and Malik were done for. But, of course, I should have trusted your writing was going to get them both out of a very sticky situation. I cannot wait for the next one........-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Book 6: Willow and Malik 3 November 2014
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The saga of the nine realms continues with Malik, Mastyr of Ashleaf, and Willow, the Protector of a full blood wraith colony. They have been attracted to each other for years, but duty kept them apart until they meet to sever the attraction and fall head over... But duty still calls.

Willow has been sworn to silence about the colony of ancient, full blood wraiths she protects. Malik is the Mastyr vampire over the Ashleaf realm. Both are focused and driven,to the point of not having a life. But for the past two years they have been inexplicably drawn to each other. Discovering she is a blood rose is a shock, but discovering who is behind increasingly determined attacks against the colony she protects is a much more disturbing one.

Caris Roane is inspired. She seamlessly creates extremely likable characters in a complex world of vampires, fae, humans and shifters working together against a formidable enemy intent on totally dominating the realm. Roane is one of the very few authors who have made my pre-order and auto buy lists. I love this series and recommend reading it from the first for continuity, even though the books can standalone.

Enchanting and Hot!!!! I was given this book for a honest review. Another , funtastic sexy read! "Mastyr" Malik of Ashleaf realm has watched over the half-breed population for 200 years from The Society and "Mastyr" Axton, who is working with Margetta and the evil Invictus pairs. Willow is the protector of The Colony of pure wraiths, hidden below Ashleaf Realm on her property. She is "Mastyr" Malik's blood rose and both need to decide whether or not to bond to save Ashleaf from Margetta's invasions. Willow can connect with mother earth and when her and Malik get together with the vines encompase them, power surges through both of them. The vines also make their intimate times magical and intense. Come along for the ride as "Mastyr" Malik and Willow fight to protect all that is in Ashleaf and below. Get lost in the beautiful forest of their relam, the waterfalls ect. I hated to end this book because I know the next one(crossing fingers there is one) hasnn't been written. I love when you can picutre the scenes through the author's words. Thank you Caris Roane for your beautiful writings.

3.0 out of 5 stars The series is getting stale, same old storyline 13 February 2015
By irene - Published on Amazon.com

I got the first book in the series, "Embrace the Dark", for free and I was intrigued by the author's different take on vampires, her world-building and the concept of the blood rose. I liked how the romance played out in that book and wanted to read more, so I bought books 2-6.

However, having now read all of them up to book 6 (this one) I feel like it's becoming very repetitive. In EVERY book, both the Mastyr vampire and the Blood Rose resist the bonding. It's extremely annoying, especially when it's obvious, as it was in this story, that they are stronger as a unit. In this story, Willow feels like she has reached the limits of her power and will no longer be able to effectively protect her wraith colony if there is a powerful attack. After she has sex with Malik for the first time and drinks some of his blood, she feels more powerful than she did before. Yet she keeps thinking there's no way she'll bond with him because she is the wraiths' Protector and she can't allow herself to be distracted!

It's the same with Malik. He keeps thinking of all his responsibilities as Mastyr of his realm and tells himself he can't bond with Willow because he needs to focus on fighting off the Invinctus as well as The Society and keep his realm safe. Yet Willow's blood actually makes him stronger. Not only that, he's been TOLD that bonding with Willow is the key to keeping his realm safe. He was told that as early as 31% into the story by Davido, a wise and ancient troll. It's very annoying that Malik knows Willow is the key, yet he ignores the warnings and predictions. Isn't his first thought supposed to be the safety of his realm? Wouldn't he then, logically, quickly bond with her to ensure his realm's safely? But nooooo, everybody has to nearly die before he gets to it!

This storyline has remained the same through books 2-6. In Book 1 the Blood Rose phenomenon was new and nobody knew what was going on until the powerful fae Vojalie figured it out by consulting ancient texts. But once it was known, from Book 2 onwards, every time a Mastyr discovers his blood rose, he's dismayed. You'd think they'd be OVERJOYED they wouldn't have to endure blood starvation any longer. You'd think they'd have learnt from the other Mastyrs' experience that together, two are stronger than one. But all they can think of is, "Oh no, I'll be committed to her for life," like as if committing to a woman is the worst thing a Mastyr vampire in charge of a realm could ever do! And, "I can't afford to be distracted from my responsibilities," as if all the other bonded pairs hadn't demonstrated that the Blood Rose can help him perform those responsibilities even more effectively! And it's like, "I don't want other mastyr vampires to drink from my blood rose," but at the same time, "I don't want to bond her to me even though this puts her at risk and makes her fair game to other mastyr vampires." MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY.

At least in this story, Willow was a realm dweller. Books 2, 3, and 5 had Blood Roses who lived in the human world and kept fighting the blood rose bond because they were reluctant to move to the Mastyr's realm and make such a huge change in their lives. Really, although the author changes things up a little here and there, the basic storylines are getting stale and at this point, I don't know if I want to continue reading the last 3 books of the series. I wish the author would center the romantic conflict around something else other than the same old, "I don't want to be bonded" issue... or at least give other reasons for the two of them to not want to be bonded.

The author writes well and has created an amazing world in the Nine Realms with all the shifters, fae, wraiths, vampires, trolls and other magical folk living together. If I had not read the earlier five books and realised that the storylines are so similar, I might have enjoyed this one more. But as part of a series... it was just too repetitive for me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Maliki and Willows story.. 25 September 2015

Loved it as I have loved all the others. The subplot thickening nicely, with the added spice of these two new characters explored in depth and the introduction to new ones I hope to hear more from in the future! Not so much revisiting the past couples in this book, but anticipating it soon with the building of the story. Highly recommend this series but think it needs to be read in sequence so do yourself a favour and start at the beginning.

I love the Blood Rose Series. Strong heroine and hero characters, and each book unfolds more of the mystery of the Invictus. Would recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal romances.
