5.0 out of 5 stars Classy

A truly superb unadorned complete collection of all of Elvis' 1970 studio recordings mainly from early June 1970 (4 days) and a further 4 tracks from September 1970. These 'new' remixes are stripped of the strings, overdubs and backing vocals so instead you get the authentic sound of what Elvis actually sounded like with just his backing group "The Nashville Cats". The audio quality is really quite amazing and Elvis' unsweetened voice sounds grittier than heard on the previously released versions of these songs. Some of the tracks are slightly longer (the endings being heard in full to vocal completion). It shows just how good the Presley pipes were back in 1970 and this a most enjoyable set at a reasonable price too. My only slight beef is that the discs are a bit tricky to remove from the cardboard sleeves so do take care otherwise you could tear the packaging.
