Product Description

Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandonato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

Im cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death...yours.

Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family.

Seventy-two chapters. Seventy-two chapters of pure and raw intensity. Rachel Van Dyken had yet again left me in awe of her mafia-story telling prowess. She never fails to give the readers top notch novels!

Out of the four books of the Eagle Elite series, I can say that Elicit will be my second favorite just a little behind Elect. Being this Tex's book, I expected more and I was given more. I wanted more heightened emotions and my craving was satisfied.

One thing that I could really point out that I loved the most in Elicit is the power of the three women---Trace, Mil and Mo. I love them in that specific order. Trace's kind heart, Mil's spunk and Mo's vulnerability, Rachel had equaled the females to the males in Elicit. As much as my heart throbs for the mafia guys, I was really drawn to the three of them.

Don't even ask me about the big twist. I was utterly speechless. My jaw literally dropped combined with my eyes wide open. When sh*t hit the fan, my mouth just swore it might have bled out. Rachel Van Dyken never runs out of surprises. The little highlights she had put with the old and new characters would really want you asking for more.

The ratio of dialogue to non- dialogue parts in the beginning of the story might have been the small downfall for me. I personally s*ck in reading long paragraphs that do not contain quotations but when Rachel started the interesting parts, I was redeemed.
Roller coaster of emotions, rawness of events and the action- pack scenes will take your breath away. Words will never be enough to list the reasons on why Elicit is the book to click this season!

I think Tex totally took my number 1 Elect spot. I loved it. Tex & Mo's story has always simmered in the background but to see it play out was better than I imagined. There were so many twists & turns I found it hard to breathe sometimes. I loved seeing more Sergio. I loved the girls together. I can't wait for more :)

Can't get enough of this series!! The opening words have you drawn in to Tex's and Mo's story. A bit darker, a bit more violent and whole lot of love making it an awesome read. Well done Rachel van Dyken! You continue to be one of my favourites!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will ELICIT every emotion! 14 August 2014

Rachel Van Dyken’s Elicit is the fourth book in the Eagle Elite series. Each book so far has kept me riveted to the pages and I am afraid I have developed an addiction to these Eagle Elite mafia books—I cannot get enough!

If you have yet to delve into the MAFIA MADNESS that is the world of Eagle Elite (Elite, Elect, Entice, and now Elicit), you should start NOW! Meet the five Families and our super sexy, swoon-worthy mafia men and our strong, kick a$$ Mafia women! I don't even know how to sum up the absolute EPICNESS of Rachel Van Dyken's Eagle Elite series. I have read each one and as I finished each book I would think how amazing it was and that there was no way she could possibly top it. Then Rachel would hand me the next book in the series and blow my mind away (and yes the pun is intended!) This series has it all - friendship, loyalty, secrets, betrayals, romance, love, steaminess, action, drama, laughter and tears. It will have you at the edge of your seat and begging for the next book! Don't wait any longer! Go and grab it NOW! You won't regret it!!

Now about Elicit…my reaction-weeks after reading this is still, NO WORDS! There are just NO WORDS that could ever do this book and the emotional rollercoaster it put me through justice! PLUS, OY VEY the spoilers!

Elicit is Tex and Mo’s book. Getting to know Tex better in this book – so worth the wait! His personality was really able to shine through here, every single nuance of it. No longer just the joker, who makes light of every situation, we get to see all of the other sides that have been hinted at in previous books. We see the man who was born to lead, the scary intelligence he possesses, the passionate lover, the all-consuming love he has always had for Mo. We really see Tex and Mo and their relationship – every volatile, hot and cold, push and pull, friend and enemy, love-filled, passionate moment of it. At times you want to wring their necks and scream at them! And other times it is the most beautiful thing you will read and I had tears pouring down my face.

The relationship between the friends, both our mafia women and our mafia men is just brilliant to see. It will both touch your heart and rip it to shreds! They are a Family in every sense of the word. BUT as the synopsis says:
I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death...yours.
Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family.

Elicit was beyond even my wildest dreams! It is non-stop from the prologue to the very end. And there is even a special treat included! In the back of Elicit is a BONUS NOVELLA!!! All of you Nixon & Trace fans out there brace yourselves for: Enamor! Where you get a bit more of Nixon bliss! I cannot recommend elicit highly enough!

I received a copy of Elicit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whoa 23 February 2015

Whoa! It's been a while since, I decided finishing a book was more important than sleep. Granted I have done that these past few months, but this was a choice I had to finished the book. I don't know why it took me so long to read Rachel Van Dyken's Elicit, because I have loved the series since book Elite. I just decided I needed to read Elicit.

At the end of Entice, a lot of things went down. Let's just get it out there the drama just explodes. So, we have Tex and he has become the head honcho, so there will be many out to get him. After all Campisi, and sometimes blood will be thicker than water. Mo finds out that Tex is in danger, so a plan was created to save him. Basically it boils down on how Tex and Mo handle the situation.

Oh my goodness, I don't know where to beginning with my thoughts, because it was awesome. Seriously, there is drama galore. Not only that we have a lot of POV of views going on in this story that feed into the drama. At certain times I wasn't sure how Mo and Tex were ever going to be together, because so much subterfuge going on that it got me going "What the hell?" However, the Elicit grabbed me and wouldn't let go with me. I tried to put the damn book down, but I had to know how the chaos that was beginning was going to end. There is so much, I want to say, but at the same time I can't.

Basically, a gripping story. I'm going to say this again this is a series thats needs to be started from the beginning, because the story builds off each book. You could start Elicit without reading the others, but it's not advise. Now I need to get to Ember, so I could talk about one particular character.

What to say i had the chance to read it before it was out to the public and i was blown away it is very intense and raw i Loved reading about Tex i got to understand what makes him the way he is. This book is a love story about Mo and Tex and reading it you would think even with they're history that they are doomed for one another and it's also about a little boy that never got the chance to fit anywhere. I loved the Dark Side of the book it was so raw.. Of you read the other book of this series you will love this one maybe the best of all the other series. It was amazing reading this book, you should read it I'TS AN AMAZING STORY THAT YOU SHOULDN'T MISS

I was fortunate enough to review Elicit before it came out and let me tell you it is a 5 star book!!!

Elicit like all the other Eagle Elite's is just all around mind-blowing. I could use some other more animated words I feel are more appropriate for the subject but I think you get the point. It has all your prized people so don't worry that you'll be missing any of the comedic commentary that we always get with this group.

If you've read from the start you know Mo & Tex, but until you read this book you have no idea what you're in for. This shows a side you haven't seen in the other books. It's so raw, dark and mysterious that you are on the edge for your seat biting your nails, stomach in knots waiting for the next bomb to be dropped intense book. But also has the most amazing devotion, desire, love and unselfishness in it that you're trying not to cry as you're having your heart ripped from your chest.

I really could go on and on about this one but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone it is that good. This just gets better and better with each book and I don't know how I will survive until the next one. I can not get enough of this series and there is nothing out there like it. I've always liked and enjoyed her other series but I am consumed by this one. There are very few books I can say that about and this is one, if not thee one.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5++ cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted TEX STARS!!!!! 13 November 2014

5++ cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted TEX STARS!!!!!

Let me start off by saying I am biased when it comes to this series!! I have absolutely fallen for these characters and Rachel Van Dyken has NOT disappointed me since she started this series! :) It is one of my favorite series, and will continue to be even after she is done writing them!

This book picks up right where we left off with Chase and Mil's story, but is Tex and Mo's story. I can honestly say that this book threw me for many loops!!

The characters stay true to who they have been through the whole series so far. The best part is seeing them mature and the bonds they have made. I think that this book shows you how much "Family" matters, and it is the family you choose, not necessarily the blood. I loved being in Tex and Mo's heads and feeling what they were feeling. This book definitely made me cry the most, but let's be honest, I am a crier. :) I can tell you that Sergio is in this book a lot more, and he is NOT my favorite person at all. I wanted to kick him in the balls. I love that Rachel makes all the heroines badasses that have a great relationship with not only themselves, but each other. They are confident and lets face it, they are "Mafia Princesses" that like to pull guns and knives on their men. :)

This book also has a HUGE SURPRISE that is what most of the book is about, so I cant give too much away, but do know you NEED to read it!

The end ended kind of abruptly, but still good? Just be aware the book ends at 85% because there is a Trace and Nixon novella at the end and 2 sneak peeks into the next 2 books of the series, Ember and Bang Bang! NOW, we have to wait!! :( Thank goodness all we need to wait for Bang Bang is 3 weeks (Sept 8th).
