Product Description

Eighteen is hard.
And so is Mateo Alesci.
Hard to read, hard to predict, hard in every way that counts.
He wants things from me.
Dirty things, nasty things, forbidden things.
And I have to give in.
His attention is completely inappropriate, but I can’t say no.
The way he looks at me… the way he watches me through my bedroom window… the way he drags me deeper and deeper into his completely forbidden fantasy just… turns me on.
He knows it turns me on.
He holds all the power. He holds all the cards. He holds my entire future in his hands.
And I have to give in.
Because Mr. Alesci is my teacher.
And I need everything he’s offering.

This is being 18, facing life & its challenges & one of them happens to be Mateo. I just didn't know what to make of him & it is later revealed he has his his hands in many pies. How he managed all that I don't know. A definite mystery man alpha, domineering & a control freak. I didn't get him or the whole thing for awhile & it took me awhile to get into the story & meaning. So yes in the end it is all revealed & then I totally got it.

The author explains her vision & journey in writing this book & it is a very good story. Bear with it you'll enjoy it. Shannon what can I say she was just so selfless. A bad start through her teenage years. An amazing character. I didn't really think about it being taboo - a teacher/student relationship, I looked past it.

seriously. I read everything by Julie A Huss twice and somtimes thrice. and her books are always always thrilling. this one though I thought it would be less thrill and more 18 year olds problems. but hey I never miss any book by her so why this one. And I was wrong. this book has as much thrill and emotions as any Huss book. it took my heart on a roller coaster and kept me up till 2am to finish it. I felt with Shannon, got scared with her, felt her thrill and her disappointment, her apreciation, her victories and losses. It put a light on how easy it comes to some and how hard it comes to other. And most of all on how 18 could be the turning of anyones life, if they have the courage to face it. read it people. Read it.

This is the first book I have read by J A Huss, it won't be the last !!!!
Loved this story of a forbidden love between a teacher and his student.
Whereas in most forbidden books, which by the way are one of my favourite genre, things build up slowly, they tip toe around each other, sharing furtive glances. Not in this book !!!!!! It gets down and dirty pretty quick and just continues to get hotter and hotter !!!
Mateo Alesci is the hot 28 year old teacher who has been asked to give extra trig lessons to 18 old Shannon. She has had a hard time of it in her short life, but she is fiesty with a smart mouth on her. Mateo has his own secrets and problems, and boy is he a dominant one !!! Doesn't like to take no for an answer and likes his own way and to play mind games with Shannon. I just wanted to pull Shannon in for a big hug, I really felt for this girl. At first I have to admit I wasn't too keen on Mateo, how he approached Shannon was a little bit weird for me but he certainly grew on me especially when his softer loving side comes out. Shannon also meets Sunday, whom she strikes up a really good friendship with , and he looks after Shannon and keeps an eye out for her at all times. I think Sunday was my favourite really, loved his attitude to everything and thought he and Shannon fitted well together .So who does she end up with, if anyone ? This book is a total must read and is made all the more interesting to find that it is based on a true story. Hell Yeah !!!!!!!!!! Why weren't my school days like this lol Seriously, a well written story and one I would recommend without hesitation !!!

WOW! What a wild ride. I felt every emotion reading this book, anger, shock, disgust, fear, lust, family bond, - it's a definite roller coaster. And not an easy read but a good one. This is the first book I have read by J A Huss, because of the reviews I decided to give it a go and I'm pleased I did, although there were parts which made me uncomfortable. This is not your typical story of a forbidden love between a teacher and his student. It gets down and dirty pretty quick and just continues to get hotter and more extreme before you really understand the complexity of the characters. In fact, the lust so early on is a derailment in some ways because you don't understand the characters til at least half way through the book. So hang in there.
Mateo Alesci is the hot 28 year old teacher who has been asked to give extra trig lessons to 18 year old Shannon. She has had a hard time of it in her short life, but she is fiesty and super smart. Mateo has his own secrets and problems, and he needs total control especially of Shannon. Sometimes I felt Shannon was like a pin ball in a machine being sprung everywhere - but then I remembered she's only 18 and that's the point. It's mean at times I wanted to pull her in for a big hug. At first I have to admit I wasn't too keen on Mateo, he was so domineering when it came to Shannon and slightly abused his position In the teacher role but his character shows great depth and as you slowly peel off the onions layers you realise there is a lot more to him. Shannon also meets Sunday, whom she strikes up a really good friendship with and he looks after Shannon and keeps an eye out for her at all times. I love that Sunday was a real guy. This book is a great read and is made all the more interesting to find that it is based on a true story (90% + embellishments according to the authors note at the back). Highly recommended.

5 seriously OMGosh stars!!!

I love, love, love this book!!!! Shannon's journey, her troubled, messed up, welcome to 18 experience was so beautifully raw. I felt like I experienced every bit of this story with her. In so many ways I connected to her emotions and struggles. The connection with Mateo was off the charts HOT! I found myself holding my breath.
I laughed, I wanted to cry, I wanted to hug her and tell her it would be alright eventually. I wanted to cheer for her when things went well. I suspected some of the twists along the way, but not all of them.

I love the way JA Huss takes a story and throws twists and turns and emotional turmoil into a story and sucks you into it as if you could have lived it
