5.0 out of 5 stars "He hadn't envisioned the possessiveness. MY wife. MINE." 28 April 2016
By ReadMeAStory - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I love the 50s. The time period is just fascinating. So when I read this book's blurb I had to check it out. Cara Bristol did her homework!! A perfect blend of story and historical facts sprinkled in to really get the reader settled in the setting. And her matter of fact explanation of corporeal punishment practices in school and her story extending this to the bedroom in a more playful way... doesn't seem like a stretch in the least.
I really liked how Henry approached his relationship with Margaret. From dating, to asking her father's permission, to waiting for consummation until after he makes her an "honest woman" --- and then Cara Bristol sheds a little screentime on the plight of girls who were taken advantage of (not forced, more like cajoled by a dirty, cheating dog Professor) and that for me was... Sad! My sisters and I spent summers with my great grandmother who told us cautionary tales of women who basically got shafted for picking the wrong man to spend time with, of their subsequent "sending away" and to read the facts laid out by Bristol about young, fresh-faced college girls being preyed on by the occasionally bad professor - who almost never suffered even if the school received a complaint - was sobering.

I am *not* crazy for BDSM, but spanking for pleasure more than real punishment I can -- um, get behind ;) Bristol did such a great job that I totally went for the ride. Believable for the time? Oh Yes, I can totally see it. This wouldn't have worked for me if Henry hadn't genuinely cared for Margaret - or if Margaret had been a doormat but he did, and she wasn't and I really enjoyed Educating His Bride. I received an ARC in exchange for me honest opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars I was not disappointed! The author has skillfully recreated the 1950's era ... 25 June 2016
By Heather Cole 1 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I have a thing for 1950's role play and the vintage apron collection to prove it. I was really looking forward to reading this novel by Cara Bristol and being a voyeur in a traditional 1950's household that also entertained some kinks. I was not disappointed!

The author has skillfully recreated the 1950's era with its traditional roles, language, and setting. Her characters are definite products of that time, but not so staid that they're boring. Oh no. Henry, our hero, is determined to initiate Margaret, our heroine, into the world of domestic discipline. As I was reading, visions of MadMen (in a scholarly setting) danced through my head but with spanking. Delicious!

I had to giggle as Margaret had to navigate the social world of university wives and their social etiquette with a sore bottom from an earlier spanking. And then there's the anal plug... but you'll have to read it to find out what happens. :) I would definitely recommend this spanking romp of a story to anyone interested in the 1950's disciplinary setting.

5.0 out of 5 stars DD, romance, sexy, stern, husband: this story has it all. 12 April 2016
By Kadee - Published on Amazon.com

I really enjoyed this short story from Cara Bristol. Set in the 1950's, it is about a young college woman, Margaret, who has her sights on marrying.

Henry, her professor, was the epitome of the stern, loving, dominant husband. I adored him.

This was a wonderful domestic discipline story that combined, spankings, romance, self growth, steamy sex and punishments... all in a vey quick read.

I hope she considers doing a sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Seductive Education 12 April 2016
By Liz Castillo - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Margaret Atwater's college education goals was a Mrs Degree, what she didn't expect was to meet and fall in love with Professor Thurston. She may not have been interested in a bachelor's degree, but she's more than excited to learning her role as wife.

When Henry started seeing Margaret, he couldn't wait for the semester is over to marry her and start her lessons of how to be his wife. And those lessons are seductive, appealing, and oh so stimulating.

This book is a quick sensuous read about two people starting a life together based on a foundation love, hope, commitment, and a whole lot of titillating encounters. Margaret may stumble from time to time, but Henry will always stand by his wife and help her every step of way.

I really enjoyed this story and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a little something to help wind down after a long day.
3.0 out of 5 stars Educating His Bride!!! (HeHe!!!) 5 August 2016

"Got this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review!!!" Wow, never thought I'd read something like from my "parent's era", but guess I'm just being naive... Would have liked to have seen more lead in about how the characters met, and how the discipline started with this student, and how it may be dispersed with others.

That being said, this was a very entertaining little tome, interesting "interaction"(eroticism) between the main characters, and fun to read. Wasn't particularly a fan of spanking and the like, but this piqued my interest, in how it is approached and done, not in actually doing it.

I'm game for following along with some of this author's stories and round out my "knowledge" a bit, who knows...(That I'll learn, not do...) Already spotted several of MS Bristol's titles and have them on my "To Read" list...

So, go beyond what seems comfortable, and give this a look-see.... You just might be surprised, I know I was!!!
