This is more of a comparison with the edifier R1850BD that I also got from Amazon.
- First the sound is not quite as clear (and slightly less bass)
- They are also slightly smaller
- There is no led on the front so you have an idea of if it's on and what input is active
- the connection cable is just speaker wire instead of the chunkier cable
On the plus side it's almost half the price, still has an optical connector, and a remote. The sound is still good and I would have to say good for the price. The more expensive version is better.
They do share some feature like you don't need the remote to change inputs press the volume button in. I have to admit that I was probably spoilt by the R1850DB model.
