Edge of Extinction is an action movie in book form - once I started reading I couldn't put it down! Set on another planet which is natural paradise (save for the weird creatures who live there) I was swept up in the characters lives as they deal with what this planet throws at them. I also learned a few things about our own planet's evolution that I hadn't known before which was kind of cool (and I did a history major... oops). Edge of Extinction just feels like a movie waiting to be made.

This book surprised and delighted. I was drawn not just into an intriguing and unexpected plot; but a whole new world construct. It's a great read, thought provoking and more than worth the investment. Please Kim - when is the next one coming?

I'm not usually a sci-fi reader but this book had me hooked from the beginning! I would highly recommend it to fans of Jurassic Park and Avatar. The story was pacey and the concept was very timely. I also enjoyed how the behavioural science references added an extra dimension to the action and adventure. The book was incredibly thought-provoking and left me really considering our current and future impacts on the planet! Looking forward to reading more from Kim!

The author's bio says Kim is a behavioral researcher who loves adventurous science fiction stories. The story she has written says the same thing. The story twists and turns taking the reader in different directions with plenty of action yet subtly leading the reader along a path of cultural self examination and awareness. This book is not only very entertaining but leaves you challenging some of your inner beliefs. Behavioral research meets adventure.

If you grew up with the epic stories of classic sci-fi, you'll appreciate the big, bold blend of action-adventure themes in Edge of Extinction. But, just when you're settling in to what feels like familiar territory, events keep twisting, a little at a time, until you find the plot taking you somewhere unexpected and new. A thought provoking premise and one that will likely fuel a fun (and deep) post-read chat with your book buddies.

This book takes you on an incredible journey from the problems of the present day, such as overpopulation and climate change, to the adventure of how humans will try to solve these problems. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who loves scientifically valid sci-fi! It will keep you thinking long after the book is finished.

Edge of Extinction reminds the reader of Matthew Reilly, in the best possible way. It’s action packed, underpinned by a serious premise; what happens if we need a planet B. And what happens if it is already occupied? Cerebral and exciting at the same time!
