Product Description

Inspired by one of the most romantic movies of all time, An Affair to Remember, starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.

Sydney St. James has decided to settle. She says yes to Mr. Not Quite Right and sets sail on a cruise to Alaska for her bachelorette party. But when Sydney meets Silicon Valley’s most eligible bachelor aboard the ship, her world turns upside down. Oscar Martin is handsome, charming, and to make matters worse...he gets her completely.

Oscar has his own problems—and his own fiancée. He'd planned the cruise as a last ditch attempt to save their relationship, but she decided to skip it. The tide turns when he meets Sydney as they both reach for the last eclair at the dessert station. Now he can’t get the beautiful, feisty woman off his mind.

Oscar is certain serendipity brought them together. Sydney is not so sure. But the cruise will be a trip of self-discovery for both of them, and fate will have the final word.

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern, sweet and funny take on a classic 2 January 2016
By Isabel A - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
An Eclair to Remember is a modern, sweet, funny and utterly enjoyable take on one of the most romantic and classic love stories of all times. Handsome and effortlessly charming Oscar Martin meets his feisty match, Sydney St James, on board of a cruise to Alaska and sparks fly when they both reach for the last eclair at the ship's cafe. The chemistry between the two is undeniable and continues to build up as the story progresses. The scenes on board of the Alaska cruise are incredibly fun. I felt like I was right there, cruising the frozen waters, watching breathtaking glaciers and flying on a helicopter over the amazing Alaskan landscape. Of course, if you are familiar with an Affair to Remember, you will know that some serious heartbreak lies ahead for beautiful Sydney and her handsome Spanish beau, but you will be right there with them until the end. This is a sweet, funny and romantic story that will keep you dreaming, laughing and maybe, at times, even crying a little bit with its main characters and that in the end, will put a big warm smile on your face.

4.0 out of 5 stars A sweet take on a familiar story 4 February 2016
By Jaime Collins - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is everything I've come to expect from Rich Amooi. It's sweet, funny and smart and just the book I needed to warm my heart on a day where I was feeling down.
I rather enjoyed the glimpse into the Alaska landscape and the whole cruise ship premise of this story. Sure it's a bit predictable, especially to fans of An Affair to Remember but it's a fun take on that familiar storyline that I enjoyed immensely.
If you like a well-written, clean Rom-Com with little to no angst then this would be a great book to pick up today.

*I received and ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book! 17 January 2016
By Laura Collins - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This is another great humorous romance by Rich Amooi. Sydney St. James is working a job she hates and is engaged to a man who works nonstop and she is having cold feet. She takes off on a cruise with her best friend to Alaska. Oscar is Silicon Valley’s most eligible bachelor and is also having issues he is ready to call off his engagement to his fiancé. He is hoping that they can save their relationship on a cruise to Alaska, but he fiancé refuses to go, so he goes without her. On the first night of the cruise he meets Sydney as they both reach for the last éclair at the dessert station; she ends up smashing it in his face. The more time they spend together they realize that they are perfect for each other and that serendipity has brought them together. If you are looking for a great humorous romance that will leave you reading all night long then you need to read this book. I can’t wait until the next book comes out by this wonderful author.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Serendipity wins! 21 February 2016

Who would have thought that a modern-day guy could write such a beautiful love story?
I loved it! Think I sat with a huge grin plastered on my face 90% of the time. The rest of the time I still listened/read with rapt attention.
Where has this author been hiding until recently? He is so talented and all his stories just communicate and make you feel and love along with the characters.
If you're not a believer in serendipity, you will be by the end of this story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book 11 January 2016
By Ash P Reads - Published on
Fans of the movies An Affair to Remember and Love Affair, will just LOVE this book. Written in Rich Amooi's uniquely humorous style this fantastic romcom novel will have you giggling uncontrollably with its cinematic visual imagery in its 200+ pages. You will see Alaska through the eyes of Oscar and Sydney, who are incidentally perfect for each other but are unfortunately tied up elsewhere. Let me just warn you, Serendipity plays a HUGE role in this book so if you are not a believer, be prepared to become one, at least fictionally. I am a BIG fan of Rich Amooi's writing so I may sound biased but I can assure you that you can pick up any one of his books and be 100% entertained to the core and An Eclair To Remember (even the title is hilarious) is just as good, if not better that all his previous works.

ARC provided in exchange of an honest review.
