The concept of this clock is brilliant. I got it for my 5yo 6 weeks ago. The very next day he was able to read the clock but didn't have the understanding of what he was reading. I just very briefly explained every day and a couple weeks later, I tried to put him to bed early as he was tired and he took my to his clock and explained that it wasn't betime yet as it wasn't 7oclock. So for that I would highly recommend the clock.

I have given this clock 4 stars instead of 5 becuase when it first arrived (6ish weeks agao) it was pretty much silent. But now its quite loud. It is in his bedroom so he can see the time in the morning so hoping it won't get louder. Also I'm worried its starting to fail...i really hope its not as he has got on so well with this clock. And it wasnt a cheap clock!

Has been used extremely successfully to teach both a 16 year old and a 12 year old how to read and say analogue time. Both have dyscalculia, both can manage the digital clock, and both managed finally to crack the analogue system in a matter of a few hours. The difference between this clock and many other teaching devices is that it highlights the symmetry of time - so instead of the minutes being marked 5,10,15,20,25,30, 35,40,45,50,55, they are marked at 5,10,15,20,25 past and 5,10,15,20,25 to. Reading analogue time is all about saying twenty five to eleven, not 11:35. This made it simple for them and I am quite cross that I didn't discover this clock sooner, even though it's quite costly it was worth every penny.

My son is now very good at telling the time with the help of the to and past markings and how the numbers for the minutes don’t go from 1 to 60 but rather 1 to 30 then 30 to 1 exactly as you would say the time. The clock is very good quality and the mechanism is impeccable, with its smooth running second hand like you get on high end watches and clocks so no ticking. I can’t recommend this enough, if your looking to teach the time this makes it easy and enjoyable for both the learners and teachers.

I ordered this on the Sunday evening and it was with me Tuesday morning and it's GREAT. It doesn't have an annoying ticking, it's slimline and light, the design isn't overly cluttered so as to make the face unclear and the child confused about what (s)he should be looking at but most of all it's going to make actually teaching my son to tell the time really easy. I've already told all my friends about it and I'll speak to my son's school when he starts.

It was really hard to make a decision which wall clock to buy for my 5 year old daughter. At first I didn't want to buy this because the numbers on the outer circle: I thought is confusing because its count to 30 and then backwards. But this was the only silent learning clock, so I bought it. And I am glad I bought this clock. Within a minute my daughter tell me the time, with a 3 simple steps, it can't be easier. We absolutely love it! No tick-tack.
