Easily Distracted By Camels - This is my first read by this author and I love it. I enjoyed the story and the sense of humor that just flowed out of the pages of this quickly read, relaxing read.
It is always interesting to read stories from Down Under and the writing style and vivid descriptions made me feel like part of the crowd.
While humorous and lighthearted, the story was actually about real issues. Over protected and working always, she learned there's more to life. Experiencing independence, learning socializing skills and meeting a camel jockey, taught Anu what she actually needed in her life. She rode a camel, too.
Feeling suffocated by her life and faced with a break from work, Anu decides to 'woman up' and hit the road. Experiencing the freedom of her very first road trip, she sets off on a 5000km trip through the Australian outback with a tiny, impractical car and a tent.
Ant lives and works deep in the remote outback. Tourists come and go daily, they keep his business thriving but he's never really noticed them. Yet when a shy, intrepid solo traveller catches his eye, he's tempted to pull out all the stops and hope he can swing her eyes his way.
Buckle up. Ipod driving music mix at the ready. Let's hit the road and see what freedom and camels have in store for Anu.
