A great book. Well written. Engaging right from the start. Read it from cover to cover over a few hours. Had me in tears at the end. What a fabulous read. I’ll be looking for more by this author. Brilliant!!

The book Earthquake Terror by Peg Kehret is about the Palmer family surviving a huge earthquake that hit Magpie Island, where they had been camping. Jonathan (age 12), Abby, his 6-year old sister, and their dog, Moose are left alone on the island after Mrs. Palmer breaks her ankle and Mr. Palmer rushes her to the hospital.
This book is so good; I didn’t want to put it down! The author, Peg Kehret, developed the book to be funny, scary, and exciting all at the same time. She also includes a message that nature is stronger than humankind.
There are so many elements that you will like in this book: the excitement, humor, and adventure. Everyone should read Earthquake Terror; on a scale of one to ten – I give this book ten stars! If I could, I’d give this book a million stars!

Earthquake Terror Book Review
BY: JACYNTA M. G.
If you’re interested adventurous books then you should really read this one, Earthquake Terror by Peg Kehret. I think you should read this book because it will blow you away with the way it will make you have sympathy for the characters. First, Abby and Jonathan are isolated on the island because the mom broke her ankle by playing in the water with Jonathan. After, the earthquake the bridge had collapsed making it difficult for Jonathan and Abby to get off the island.
You should read this book because it has many exciting events and the characters are so realistic. The book shows me nature is more powerful than man when nature destroyed the camper when a redwood tree smashed it. Also, when man built bridge nature destroyed it.
I think you should really read this book because it’s very exciting. I think kids that are from ages 9 to 14 should read this book. I give this book a 10 out of 10 or 5 out of 5 stars. Either way it’s still the best.

If you’re trying to get your 7-10 year old hooked on a fictional story, start here! It’s a fast paced story about love, perseverance, quick thinking, dependability, and survival! Jonathan and Abby (and Moose) will become “friends” at your dinner table and open many great conversations! I’ve read this to countless students while teaching school. Everyone kid loved this story!
