Whilst I’ve found Spalding’s books a tad formulaic, it’s to a formula that works. Each book I’ve read has been funny, some more so than others. This particular story, whilst fairly predictable with plot twists that were not that difficult to predict, was nonetheless a better read than most of the others I’ve enjoyed.
Why? Well, a bit more insightful, a bit more philosophical and, even though sticking to his tried and tested humor devices, a bit funnier than, say, “Dry Hard” or “Bricking It”, both of which is still recommend.
Read this and maybe you’ll see my point. Either way, read it. It’s great.
