I've been a Zuri Day fan every since I picked up "Loving Blue" last spring. I simply loved her style of writing and girlfriend knows she can put together a good plot; REALLY TALENTED. Since then I have bought a majority of her books and loved (and re-read) almost all of them. However, I have had my doubts about this one after reading the prologue. However, I pushed on and ended up enjoying this read immensely. I loved Byron. He was supposed to be an "average" guy (and he was in a lot of ways), however there were so many things above and beyond average about him. He took care of his daughter and responsibilities, he was gentleman, and he had an unwavering confidence that refused to be broken under any circumstance. That alone made him sexy. And he loved him some Cynthia. Our heroine was okay too. There were times where I thought she cared way too much about people's opinions and came off as weak. However, I like the fact that she resisted her sometimes snobbish ways, she was open minded, and she had gained her strength by the end of the book. Overall, I like this book a lot and the only reasons it didn't get a 5 from me is because of a few editing errors, that made it confusing, it took a little while to heat up (although when it got hot, it really was hot!), and I did skip a couple pages in the middle. I am looking forward to the next books in the Blue Collar series, so come with it Ms. Day. QUICKLY.
That Ms. Liz just cracked me up. I can't wait to see what else she gets up to with her other sons.
Some nice twists in the story...did not see that coming-what happened with Jayden's dad.
