This is a historical fiction romance novel, with significantly more emphasis on the romance. That's not meant to be a criticism - Hachtel writes her steamy scenes with care, and builds the tension between her lovers beautifully. It's the classic story of a woman who decides to seduce a man, only this woman has the added ability to visit her target in his sleep. The twist makes for an interesting courtship, and lends the story some uniqueness. Some of Hachtel's major plot points, however, are written too quickly, and lose their impact. Unfortunately, these tend to be moments where the villain should be developed, or when the reader should be held in at least some suspense as to whether the protagonists will find a way out of their predicament. Instead, these scenes are rushed.
So: if you're looking for a fun, flirty romp then this book is for you! If you're hoping for character complexity or an intricate plot, this may not satisfy.
