Dragon Mount: Deluxe Hardcover Edition Hardcover – 20 Jun 2018
Review from Maddy:
“Dragon Mount is a breath-taking, action-packed paranormal story that will blow your mind. There are a lot of dragon-shifter stories and novels out there but none are quite like this.
The setting and plot of this novel are so interesting. Jennifer Eaton creates a fantastic world for us to fall into, one where Dragons are real and great and terrifying. This novel has a lot of history and backbone and there are a lot of political themes here, too. These political themes parallel with some of things going on in our world.
After I picked up this novel, I was hooked and I didn't want it to end.”
Review from Cassidy:
“I have previously read 3 other Jennifer M. Eaton books and I absolutely loved them, so I went into this book already knowing it was going to be good. And I was right. The characters are well developed; the writing style is amazing. I couldn't think of any other way to start off 2018 then to finish this amazing book.”
Review from Sandra Stephenson:
“I'm telling you, I didn't want it to end! I love dragons but this story was different. It was very dragon-y, cave-like, beastly...I don't know how to describe it...real? Just that it was very different from most dragon-shifter books I've read. This was more on the raw side, and I found it truly amazing.”
Review from Sharon:
“My favorite part of this story was the seamless way the Maori culture fit into the plot. It made me want to visit New Zealand so I could see the Dragon Mount for myself.”
Review from Claire:
“This is my third time reading Jennifer M Eaton and I can firmly add her to the list of my go to authors after devouring Dragon Mount it was fantastic. I actually didn't really know what to expect as I haven't read a whole lot of Dragon books but this book definitely packs a punch.”

The sister’s relationship was also very fast. I thought it might be her story next but the author finished that little side story so quickly so assuming there will not be a book for Sybil?
There is potential to continue this book with a series around the other dragons, but not sure if I could continue with this series if she finishes the other books similarly to this one. However, I would recommend this book as I did enjoy most of it except for the ending.

They sat at the bar and the news came on about disemboweled bodies and a curfew to keep women out of the killer’s path. Anna shivered when an old man in the corner said they wouldn’t find the killer unless they looked to the skies! They were in a “Seventeen Year” and the dragons were looking for mates! A blond man with crystal blue eyes offered to buy Anna a drink. She refused, but he came to sit beside her and introduce himself as Joe. She again refused the drink and he returned to his seat. Then a chill came from the doorway as a tall man with dark hair entered. He came straight over to Sybil and kissed her hand. He said she could call him Connor. Anna was not comfortable around him – something wasn’t quite right.
Suddenly the fixture holding the wine glasses tipped and would have fallen on Anna, but in the blink of an eye, Joe had held her from harm with one hand while the other supported the tipping fixture. Connor helped him lower it to the floor. With her rare blood type, if Anna were injured by the fixture, it could have been very serious! With that realization, Joe said she was bleeding and his reaction was very strange. She got blood on his cheek as she pushed his face away. Connor went to wipe the blood off – they knew each other and he saw Joe acting strangely – then he too sniffed at her bleeding finger!
Four men entered the bar, and Joe and Conner realized they could not get Anna out in time. Joe whispered for her to run if she got an opportunity. She didn’t understand the argument among the men. Gale, one of the four men, pushed her outside. Joe again tried to intervene and suddenly Anna saw two dragons about to battle right in front of her! Connor grabbed the two women and tried to get them away from the others. He told them to run. But Anna felt something sharp close onto her shoulder as she was lifted from the ground! What had her in its grip? Was she going to die? What was happening?
This was such a great story! Right from the start, the reader can feel that something isn’t right in the bar where Anna and Sybil go for their drink. The tension quickly mounts as the strangers in long coats enter later and argue with Joe and Connor. When Gale grabs Anna, and Joe refuses to let her be taken, the reader know there is big trouble brewing! Get the book and find out what happens to Anna and Sybil as the danger escalates out of control!
However Anna the heroine is one of the most useless, selfish, and just plain boring people I have ever read about. She did nothing and contributed nothing to the entire story other than she was the catalyst for joe to stop the evil dragons rule.
The book is told from two view points...but not Anna and Joe's. For some reason they brought in another guy to be the second perspective. It was a weird non love triangle.
Overall I give this four stars for originality but the plot was kind of flat and the synopsis did not really say what was actually happening in the book.
For those who want a different kind of dragon shifter book.
*Note: there are themes that cover some things people may not like.
Although not specifically a YA title, it would be acceptable for older teenagers (15+) who aren’t going to blush over the “lust dragon’s” carnal nature.
I couldn’t put it down. Perfect for fantasy and paranormal romance addicts.
