Product Description

General Zala Shaylinor has led her troops against the dragons since they first invaded her homeland. Respected by her soldiers and wielder of a powerful storm blade, she’s a dedicated warrior who would never seek out love in the middle of a war. All she wants is for her people to be able to walk the world without fear again.

But when a captured prisoner turns out to be a dragon magically chained in human form, she finds herself noticing his striking violet eyes and his powerful presence. Surely, he’s more than the lowly captive he seems.

The dragon, who only offers the name Talon, promises to help the humans strike a blow against his leaders, one that could turn the tide of the war. Zala's troops suspect a trap, and her unusual interest in the prisoner makes them question her leadership for the first time. Talon claims that all he wants is his freedom in return for helping.

Dare she risk losing her troops’ hard-earned respect? Dare she trust a dragon?

Warning: Dragon Bond is a fantasy romance and contains mature sexual content.

As usual Ruby has shown that yes you can write a fantasy book with enough hot bits in it to get you hot and bothered AND still have a gripping story line. This book is set up to be the first of a series (which I am looking forward to read!)

This is not an alpha male/weak female book, oh no it is not. The heroine is strong and attractive, not stupid or vain. Not your top-of-the-line bombshell beauty. She has brain, she has guts and she is the more so attractive because of this. The hero is hot and sexy with moral and some solid backstory to it. The naughty bits... enough to keep you hot and bothered but not too much that it become a yawn-fest..

IF you have read Lindsay Buroker's Dragon Blood series, you can see some similarities in a sense of that there are dragons, swords capable of killing dragons, dragons that can shapeshift and talk telepathically, great action sequences and top-notch banters. That is pretty much where it ends though. This is more like a parallel world where there are way more dragons and they are not all nice dragons...

If you like the Dragon Blood series, I would definitely recommend this book. (If you haven't read it but like this book, then please do read that series too!)

4.0 out of 5 stars A new alien /shifter book - so exciting! 29 October 2016
By Jannie - Published on

Dragons escape their own world through a portal onto a new world. Although humans are already well established here, the dragons consider them to be a lesser species, not worthy of consideration.
Ms. Lionsdrake has created an interesting new world with two dominant species, each with their own prejudices.
Talon and Zara, military leaders on opposing sides, respect each other's abilities, and after a series of events, find themselves in each other's company. Will their obvious attraction cause problems within their own people? Well, yeah! Sometimes you just have to deal with it! Read and enjoy the story. I have a feeling there will be more to come (I hope so!).

5.0 out of 5 stars A Top-Notch Fantasy! 5 November 2016

Shifting books aren't really my cup of tea, but I pretty much read anything Ruby Lionsdrake writes, and she's never disappointed. That's the case with this top-notch new fantasy book. Ruby's writing is always clear; her characters are always interesting; and her hallmark touch of humor always adds to my enjoyment of her books. A complete book in itself, it's not clear if this is the first of a series, but we can always hope! Give this one a try -- it's worth the read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a treat! 27 October 2016

Ruby Lionsdrake/Lindsay Buroker never disappoints with her perfect blend of fantasy, adventure, and romance. The coffee-bean-popping heroine was fun and the soul-searching dragon-shifter lead was perfect. My only slight regret --- there's no author's note to let me know if this is the first book in a new series or merely a standalone. Either way, it was a delight...but I want more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantasy Romance! 28 October 2016
By Avid reader - Published on

I love believable stories. It is a fantasy book but the relationships, characters, and world are believable. I think this is the only fantasy romance I've read and I am very happy with it. It has a balance of story and romance without being too much either way. And who doesn't want dragons and magic in their life?

Zala and Talon have a lot in common being high ranking military and have personally fought against each other. They have immediate chemistry and grow to like, appreciate, and love each other. Despite fear and distrust from her people, Talon still joins them and fights for them. It seems by the end of the book the humans have accepted him as a strong ally although still with some doubt. Serena seems to want what's best for Zala in her relationship with Talon.

The dragons need more exposure to humans as people rather than food but I'm sure some will come around. I hope this is the first of a new series!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm speechless mostly... 23 October 2016

A totally unexpected dragon love story from one of the best romance authors I've ever read. I'm so glad I took nap today so I could finish this story in 1 day. It held me on the edge of my set for the whole ride. The sex added to the excitement of this story for me as well. I hope there's more to come
