Product Description

Nico met the love of his life when he was seventeen.

Immediately, he realizes that the gap in their ages is too significant to make a move on her until she’s legal in the eyes of the law. So he joins the United States Navy, killing time until he can come home to her again.

But a tragedy strikes while Georgia is alone and vulnerable, and with no other recourse, Georgia leaves, disappearing without a trace.

After months of searching, he finds her, but quickly realizes that she needs the time to herself to work out her problems on her own.

So he leaves her be, knowing that if she ever felt anything for him, she’d come back home to him.

But it takes her years to return, and in those years, Nico changes, too.

He’s seen too much. Done too much. Lost too much.

He lives his life as a SWAT officer for KPD, goes through the motions of everyday life, but only as half a man. And not even the good half. The US military saw to that.

When the two finally come back together, one question remains. Will she love him as the man he is now, or leave him because he’s not the same man he used to be?

4.0 out of 5 stars Crazy in love with Nico & Georgia! 9 June 2015

Another great read by author Lani Lynn Vale! It was full of swoon, humor, intrigue, heartbreak and happiness. I liked it. A lot.

I have nothing but mad love for Nico and Georgia. Everything about them and their relationship felt so right, so natural... so real. I LOVED their shared history. The importance of family, their religious beliefs, their mutual love of soccer and their undeniable chemistry helped to build such a strong and everlasting foundation to their relationship. Nico and Georgia were dynamite (both in & out of the bedroom) and are easily one of my favorite Lani Lynn Vale couples!

Nico... Oh, good gods. Just the fact that he saved himself for Georgia... well, that automatically catapulted him into my Book Boyfriend Hall of Fame. The love he had for not only Georgia but his family and his team... *le sigh* His stamina, the way he took control and his protective nature was incredibly HOT. Heck, I found it panty-melting any time his voice rasped or his eyes flared or when he called Georgia beautiful. And their first time together... well, they both painted a sexy, intense and exciting picture (or maybe more along the lines of a sex tape) for me.

Georgia... She was such a fun and extremely likeable heroine! I really liked how comfortable she was in her own skin, how confident she was in her relationship with Nico and how she wasn't afraid to kick a bunch of grown men's butts out on the soccer field. I admired her strength when her and Nico were separated for a period of time (yea... that happens around the 75% mark) and totally loved her stubborn streak when trying to find out what really happened with Nico during a highly intense bust with him and his team. And the things that flew out of her mouth during a certain life-altering "event"... priceless.

The supporting cast of characters was once again wonderful. I love all of the distinctive personalities they bring to the table and am excited to hear more about them in the upcoming books!

I wasn't a huge fan of some of the little time jumps in the story, the ones that started around that aforementioned 75% mark. I got a bit confused in spots, when it would say three hours later or a certain number of days later because I felt like I missed something that had just happened, so I'd go back to re-read that scene one more time. Not super-distracting but I like details, which you don't necessarily get when time jumps take place.

Very much looking forward to reading Downy's book, Bang Switch, next! Bring on the sexy, sweet, red headed alpha Hero!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nick and Georgia Book 2. KPD SWAT 6 May 2017

Nico is KPD SWAT and a former SEAL. He's also the one that doesn't say much and doesn't smile. The way he acts mostly scares people that don't know him and worries people that do. He's got a story behind his mask that we finally get to know.

Georgia grew up as Nico's next door neighbor and his sister best friend. She's had had a crush on Nico since the first day she laid eyes on him at 8 years old. Georgia had a rough life and right when she was finally graduating high school and finally legal she had another tragedy that pushed her right out of Nico's life. Here it is 8 years later and she's back. How will Nico react? Will they finally get together? Have their HEA?

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid second book 27 July 2016
By Miss Kay - Published on

This is the second KPD Swat book and it's better than the first one.

This is the story of Nico and Georgia - who fell in love as kids but were torn apart by circumstances beyond their control. When Georgia returns home, they pick right up where they left off.

There were a few things about this book that were disjointed, like in the previous book. I feel like important things are brushed over, especially some police procedure/actions that would really add to the story. There were also parts that were so out there that I cringed because it was just too unrealistic (without trying to spoil the book: the hospital scene towards the end for example - everything from the chapel to the hallway).

I'm on book 3 now. I feel like the writing is getting better so I'll keep going.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love the men of KDP SWAT! 18 March 2017

I never thought Lani Lynn Vale could ever top Trance and then she introduced Nico. Nico is different from any other character Lani has wrote before. And I loved it. He still was 100 percent Alpha, but he had this soft side that made you completely melt. He could say things to make you completely swoon for him. I loved the ups and down in this book. There were twists. Some small, and some heart wrenching. It was around two in the morning when I kept whispering, 'just one more chapter.' I didn't set this book down until it was complete. This was the best book from Lani so far, and it has me completely itching for the next book!
5.0 out of 5 stars True love stands strong 17 September 2015

Georgia Brianne Valentine works on her family cattle ranch and her father is abusive. Nicholas (Nico) Guliani Pena is her best friends brother and he has wanted Georgia for a long time but she was underage. He went into the Navy and when he was on leave they shared a kiss together.

Then, Georgia's world fell completely apart - she returns 8 years later.

I absolutely adore Nico - he is the right mix of bad@** and sweet romantic guy all rolled into one.

Now we have drama here and you are going to feel for Georgia and all the events in her life that have caused her heartache at one point or another. How can someone go through so much and still survive?

Finding true love at 13 and never letting go of it.
