After a car accident killed her parents when she was a child, Bronagh Murphy chose to box herself off from people in an effort to keep herself from future hurt. If she doesn't befriend people, talk to them or acknowledge them in any way they leave her alone just like she wants.

When Dominic Slater enters her life, ignoring him is all she has to do to get his attention. Dominic is used to attention, and when he and his brothers move to Dublin, Ireland for family business, he gets nothing but attention. Attention from everyone except the beautiful brunette with a sharp tongue.

Dominic wants Bronagh and the only way he can get to her, is by dragging her from the boxed off corner she has herself trapped in the only way he knows how...by force.

Dominic wants her, and what Dominic wants, Dominic gets.

Loved this story! This was my first read from Ms Casey and I am pleased to say it was a fantastic read. Could not put it down, was hooked from the first chapter. Quite liked the Irish slang, found the teasing between the brothers/sisters hilarious. Laughed out loud numerous times. Looking forward to reading the future stories.

I'm not sure why, but I enjoyed this book. The heroine' s character was inconsistently portrayed. Sometimes she was strong and other times she was just immature. I also think that the story would have had more depth if the dynamics with her classmates were explored more. It was as if everyone was waiting for an opening to approach her, but there was no discovery of why she drew so much interest. I like over-the-top romances with alpha males because they provide delicious escapism and this book certainly ticked those boxes for me.

If you don't over analyse and just enjoy, it's a colourful read.

*****5-these here Irish eyes are still smiling-Stars*****
~this review contains minor spoilers~

“Don't mind them, the a$$hole talking to you is Alec, the prick on the right is Kane, and my older brother Ryder is in the house with Damien.”
Dominic, Damien, Alec, Kane, and Ryder.
Oh, my God, their names are just as sexy as they are.
“It's a pleasure.” Kane smiled to me after a moment.
“The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Slater.”
Dominic's suddenly grabbed hold of mine. “All right, that's enough of that.”

“Are you going to stare at my brothers all day or are you going to come with me?” Dominic asked in an impatient tone.
“If that is a legit question, I vote to stay here and stare at your brothers all day.”

That. Was. Bloody Friggin Brilliant!! I mean-WOW, I cannot believe this was a debut novel, L.A. Casey won me over hard core with this one. I should point out, you really need to take the authors note to heart. This is far from your typical romance- it's violent, gritty, raw, and dirty, these characters all swear like sailors, are not afraid to take a swing at each other, and when they argue it gets pretty nasty and intense. Luckily for me- I LOVE that snit! This is exactly how I love my romances best- emotionally charged, steamy and messy. As a hott tempered Irish woman myself, I've got nothing on this crew, even the women are totally bada$$, rough and tumble. This book just completely blew me away.

Ever since my parents died I have been closed off and guarded. I didn't like the idea of getting attached to someone new knowing that they could be taken away from me. That's why I chose not to make friends with anyone at school or anyone at all really; it was too risky.

I received my copy as compimentary from the author.

I was really looking forward to reading this as I had heard ripples through the grapevine of others that have thoroughly enjoyed it.

I found the book fast paced at first. I adored the characters, all of them! It was fun watching the visual in my head of these two people so headstrong and not wanting to like each other, let alone, god forbid fancy each other. The dialogue between them was sometimes intense, sometimes made me chuckle and sometimes want to bang their young heads together!! I was gripped.

I loved the banter and the relationship that Bronagh had with her sister too.

Dominic was so like a horse with blinkers on, he wanted her before she even knew it herself! She was HIS!

Loved how it developed, then, the cat and mouse games were just about beginning to bore me. I text my friend, who also runs our read and review Facebook group with authors, saying how this has turned into a slow snails pace now, I'm getting fed up of the chasing.......
Then..........
I got gripped again when something else developed in the plot line and off I went again!!! I sat until the finish today doing nothing else but sipping my coffee, ignoring what was around me and read.

I do recommend this book.

As the author warns, if you don't like alpha males, don't read it, if you don't like stubborn females, don't read it. Its definitely more than what the blurb says it is.

Thank you for the chance to read this and enjoy it.

Rude, crude, violent and politically incorrect...and I loved it. Good narrative, well-written and funny with serious aspects as well. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately downloaded Alec and Kane. Thanks L A for your refreshing approach to writing.

This would be a 4.5 stars for me. I am not really into young adults (mostly children) - they really can sound soooooo annoying (even in books) but the story was good and the character development was great. I will definitely try other books in this series (esp if the characters are older!) But a good story, full length too!

Somewhat disappointed in this book, so much so that I gave up reading it. To me it was aimed more towards angsty teenagers; the main female character came across as tough-talking but submissive and weak in reality. Will not read any other subsequent books in the series.
