What touched my heart was how genuine the couple are; genuine Christians. What I learned personally is to be careful with whom I marry, and that marriage takes much work, honesty and watchfullness. There were things in the book I actually never have thought about before, but in marriage will have to face, so I learned a lot. But also about the blessings of a Christian home.
I think the book is a read for Christians or seekers who are unsure about their marriage, but also for people who are looking for a life partner or those who plan to get married.
Through the book I Do Again, the reader is also able to appreciate the negative impact divorce has on the children in the family. Brittany and Laura, Cheryl and Jeff's twin daughters, were not spared in the divorce. Even though the children were instrumental in Cheryl and Jeff's coming together as husband and wife a second time, the divorce nonetheless took a toll on them.
The book will be a good resource for any couple looking to keep their home as it points out reasons people commit adultery. Cheryl was honest and open about her affair; which is quite commendable and Jeff spoke about his bitterness towards Cheryl's selfishness. The most appreciative part for me was the fact that Cheryl and Jeff found Christ and this began the process of restoration in their home.
I Do Again would also be a good resource to any marriage counselor. Overall i would give this book a 5/5 rating. Kikelomo Adebiyi is the author of The Place of Your Emotions in Choosing a Life Partner
