A great follow up on the first book. Once again a fun, entertaining read. I'm really enjoying the characters in this series and the magical aspects in the book (special mention goes to the house), but this in no way detracts from the mystery. Fast-paced, easy cosy mystery perfect to read in your pj's with a glass of wine...or two (but maybe that's just me!) Definitely recommend for those who enjoy less gruesome murder mysteries.
Side note - I live in/near the area Morgana is obviously drawing inspiration from in a lot of her books (though the towns etc are mostly fictional) so I am also getting a kick out of recognising names and landmarks. It just adds another layer of enjoyment being able to support local talent and read about my local areas in works of fiction.
Eagerly awaiting book three in this series.
A fun witch cozy mystery
Book 2 of an internationally best-selling series of 11 books so far!
Amelia’s spells have improved, but her baking has not. She needs to make enough dough to save her crumbling cake store business. Yet that is soon the least of her worries, when a body is found on her porch and her new friend, Dianne, becomes the main suspect.
As Amelia tries to clear Dianne’s name, she finds that some people in her life are not what they seem. Craig finally whisks Amelia away on a date, but Amelia’s house has something to say about the matter, much to her distress.
The police say that solving the murder will be a piece of cake, but are they keeping her on a knead-to-know basis?
Will Amelia discover why Alder Vervain has been watching her?
Will she rise to the occasion and solve the murder, or will she become the next victim?
All Morgana Best books are clean cozy mysteries.
