Product Description

Sometimes you have to stop fighting in order to win.

Trained from birth to become the ruler of the Nephilim and their island sanctuary, Amira is the perfect princess, until her birthright and even her fundamental beliefs are ripped away. She’ll discover perfection and training count for nothing when faced with a ruthless enemy determined to possess her and all she holds dear.

As captain of the Royal Guard, Caeden’s priority is to protect the Royal Family. Sometimes that means protecting the naïve princess from her own desires, even if he is tempted to give in. When a betrayer strikes from within, their sanctuary and very existence are threatened. Caeden must overcome the burning pain of helplessness to defeat this enemy and restore Amira to her rightful place. He will not fail his princess again.

Do they have the fortitude and inner strength needed to regain the kingdom and save their people?

I am a huge fan of paranormal and anything to do with Nephilim; Devine Merit was exactly what I was looking for.

Princess Amira's turn around in this book was pretty incredible, she started so demure and innocent and in the end she grew into this amazing self assured girl. Loved her.

I was swept up in her journey in this world V. Cantrell created with such vivid detail, I felt like I was there. I was left wanting more but there was no huge painful cliffhanger.

All in all it was paranormal perfection. I adored it. It has it all adventure, love & laughs.

5.0 out of 5 stars When's the sequel?!? 30 January 2016

Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. Amira is a beautiful character who really comes into her own, and Caeden is the type of man every girl dreams of: a lover, a fighter, a protector. The world of Cashile sounds like such a beautiful place, and the imagery used to describe it makes it seem so real, I can almost touch it.

I'm definitely interested in what happens following the end of this book, and I'm keeping this author on my list to keep up with in the future. =)

5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars If I could give it more stars I would 1 February 2016

Just wow! I'm speechless. I can't tell you enough how amazing and how good this book was.

First off I loved how it got straight into the story...no pointless introduction. The author has one fab imagination. This book was out of this world.....literally. It made me swoon, laugh and cry. It also had a dark side with lots of turmoil to the story and the author knows how to write one mean Villain.

I've just added not just one book boyfriend but two to my endless list. The author knows how to write about swoony men. If my review so far hasn't persuaded you to get it, just let me tell you about the Hot protective Princesses Guards then it'll definitely make you want to one click this book. First off we have the man in charge...The swoony, sweet, protective Caeden:
"I love you. You are mine. Any responsibility you carry, I'll share the weight of I cannot carry it for you. Always."
Then we have the Broody Osmond, the stubborn Trevin, the funny, cheeky, joker of the pack ladies man Levi:
"Sweet Deity in Heaven! I adore you women. Forget about Caeden and run away with me. I'll build you a cabana on a secluded beach and we can spend the rest if our lives sparring and making beautiful babies together."
Then you have the Brotherly one Murdock and then there's Dalek.
I'll be waiting impatiently for book 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic story 28 February 2017

Thoughtful and unpredictable until the very end.
Amira is a young Nephilim princess, destined to rule and protect the sacred island by her blood bond. But before she reaches the maturity required for accepting the burden of responsibility, her father king Vidar is murdered and the weight of the bond is crushing her. Only through a bond with strong male is she able to hold the protective shield... but the bond is forced upon her from Sorin, who she would never have chosen as her consort and who is led by ill intentions. To retrieve her rightful position, Amira must overcome many obstacles to find her true love and establish peace in her kingdom once again.
I loved this book. It was very gentle and amazingly adventurous at the same time and I felt really comfortable reading it, enjoying the complicated destinies of the main characters, curious with every page where their actions will lead them. The plot developed really naturally, like life itself, with all those unpredictable twists and turbulent situations.
The characters were outstanding, too. I adored how Amira showed her true strength and fierce individuality, winning over the hearts of her Guard and whole nation. I loved Caeden's passionate individuality hidden behind the mask of a perfect guard and steely warrior. And I absolutely admire the way the author pictured the conflict within Sorin, making him a pitiful victim instead of an evil villain he appeared to be at first.
Absolutely amazing book, and I am grateful to the publisher for providing a review copy. I have reviewed this book voluntarily and all opinions are my own.
