Only those who are lost can be found.

Stella Walker is fleeing from a past which haunts her on a daily basis, and from a city full of painful reminders of a life that’s no longer hers. In an attempt to escape her memories, she plans to reinvent herself in the sanctuary of a tiny town in rural Victoria, by tracking down the one person she hopes can help, her stepbrother. What Stella doesn’t anticipate is meeting his best friend Lawson Drake, a hotter-than-hot mechanic, the local knight in shining armour – and the most gorgeously infuriating man Stella has ever seen.

When Lawson comes across a broken-down car by the side of the road, he is intrigued by its owner – a caramel-eyed brunette who clearly has a score to settle, not only with her defective vehicle, but with anyone who tries to get too close. The thing is, something about her makes Lawson want to get as close as he can possibly get.

Can Lawson help Stella to fix her broken heart, and discover herself again?

I've had this book on my TBR list for a little while now after having read some of K.M.Golland’s other works, which had had both great story lines and characters that were believable.
In Discovering Stella KM Golland has written a wonderful story about a woman needing to overcome tragic circumstances to find herself again.
Stella and Lawson's story is not rushed, readers are given time to know about each of them. Stella was a woman running from her past, trying to forget, though struggling to move on. She was not living a life full of moments she was able to enjoy, instead just trying to escape anything that would make her feel. Then along came Lawson and her carefully constructed walls started to crack, as he tried to find a way through to her.
Lawson falls for Stella, big time, and he hopes he holds the key to helping her resolve her past. Many times it is two steps forward and one step back, but each of those steps is important in Discovering Stella.
Both characters showed amazing strength, Stella had a past that would be crippling for anyone and that would make it hard to trust again, yet she showed so much courage when she started to let in those around her. However with the pace at which Stella revealed what troubled her, constantly pushing others away, not everyone would of had the patience nor caring nature to keep on coming back, but Lawson would not give up, he was determined to save her. He was not only kind, but also funny and romantic. Though parts of their relationship were heartwarming it was the connection formed upon and strengthened by trust, that was the best part of their journey together.
Discovering Stella had highs that were infectious and beautiful, even in its saddest moments there was always a story of strength, forgiveness and hope that will touch many readers.

This book was simply AMAZING! I've never had a book make me go from laughing my bum off to crying back to laughing in such a short amount of time.

This was seriously a beautiful story and it will be remembered by me for many moons to come. This takes place in a town called Pittstown, Victoria in Australia and involves the lead character Stella trying to find herself after a very traumatic turn in her life. In this little town, she finds her knight in shining armour, Lawson Drake. You'll love the banter between these two as they not only discover each other but slowly get Stella to discover herself again.

If there is any doubt, I would highly recommend this book!

I loved this story. It was about courage and loss and needing someone's help to get back to being a functioning happy soul again. Stella was running from her past and her grief and just needed Lawson to show her how to deal with it. Such an amazing book, but that's to be expected from this author. She always does a great job and this one doesn't disappoint. Well done Kellie.!

I'm in two minds about this book. Don't get me wrong, it was extremely hot, but the amount of crying that Stella does made me flick pages really quickly. Yes, she had a tragedy, but really I'm not sure why Lawson put up with all her whining.......the book would have been better if it wasn't so depressing.

I've had this book on my TBR list for a little while now after having read some of K.M.Golland’s other works, which had had both great story lines and characters that were believable. When I first dived in to reading Discovering Stella I was expecting the same kind of brilliant writing style, and K.M certainly did not disappoint. It was enthralling, poignant and beautiful, with characters that made it extremely easy to fall in love.

Stella and Lawson's story is not rushed, readers are given time to know about each of them and to establish that there are more interesting facets of information to come, whilst also still managing to gain a sense of who they are. Stella was a woman running from her past, trying to forget, though struggling to move on. She was not living a life full of moments she was able to enjoy, instead just trying to escape anything that would make her feel. Then along came Lawson and her carefully constructed walls started to crack, as he tried to find a way through to her.

To be her knight in shining armour.

Lawson was not only kind, but also funny and romantic. His lovely gestures constantly had me smiling and sent my heart fluttering, making it only that much more understandable of why Stella might fall for him.

Love love loved this book.
I felt I could relate to this book so much with regards to the being so sad you cannot bear to listen to music, to sing along to a song, to enjoy the feeling of music in your soul.
This is the story of Stella who leaves her home town after a traumatic tragedy and goes to see her Stepbrother to get away and "forget". She meets Lawson Drake, the towns mechanic when her car breaks down on the roadside when she is nearly there and for Lawson the sparks are flying in more ways than one.
Stella is withdrawn and jumpy, traumatized really, is Lawson the man to heal her? You will have to read to find out their journey.
Anyone who has read a K M Golland book will know that she incorporates humour into her work, this book is no exception. Shaz works in the bar Stella's stepbrother owns, I fell in love with this character, I could visualize her so easy, I personally would of liked more of her in the story as she was so so funny.
There were plenty of laugh out loud moments, and then moments when I needed my box of tissues, moments when my heart felt so full, I thought it was going to explode!!
All in all this book was amazing. Emotional, heartbreaking, funny, happy, sad, angsty and totally wonderful. And the Ending -------- oh my, I held my hand to my heart and took a big sigh. A must read !!!!!!!
