This series has been revamped so many times it is annoying.
A lot less sex in this newer version which is hard to imagine as it still is 50% off the content of the book.
Still find I have too many questions in regards to plot holes and the whole thing really is one big mixed up mess.
I understand what is happening as I know what is going to happen in the next few books.
Akira start out as this awesome trained marine Psychic heroine who saves the hero. She then deteriorates into a helpless, I have to be saved numerous times, woman. Such a pity.
How is Kira, a supposedly trained marine, taken down so many times and how does she have time to be running around the country.
Also, she knows what is happening to her but still is the most stubborn heroine ever written. She would rather put her life at risk than talk things through with Lucas.
Lucas really is not the baddie in this, even though he has to claim Kira without her knowing. He is put into a terrible position due to her not being honest and talking to him.
The whole claiming her whilst she doesn’t know what is happening is still a sore point for me. Yes, it is meant to save her life which is under the death penalty, once again due to her stubbornness but it still niggles me.
One brother goes from a baddie to a goodie so fast we get whiplash, the evil witch is the mate of the other brother who now has to track and kill her.
The council and their archaic beliefs need to be put out to pasture.
I am re-reading the whole series through KU due to newer versions once again.
At one point the h describes the reasons she fell in love with the H - he's kind to his family and a few other things. Well he's never been kind to her, and the other reasons given are never supported in the book.
Plus evil characters are forgiven in half a sentence and motivations for their actions are never properly explained.

It started off well enough Kira is having dreams of a man she's never met, he's caged and being kept hostage by a female, the male from the dream is Lucas and he's sharing the same dreams. Kira is driven to find Lucas but Lucas having been kidnapped and tortured is not sure who he can trust so an uneasy alliance forms between them.
I'm not a fan of giving 'spoiler' reviews although I have done so on occasion but I'm finding it difficult to point out what I didn't like about this book without giving anything away, it was full of discrepancies, I kept asking why and I just couldn't buy into the whole mate or die thing and seriously Malcolm, what happened there and Lawrence, what and why and I'm aware this is a shifter book but even reading fantasy I like it to make a certain about of sense, I know this is a series and some things will be answered at a later stage but for people like me that won't be reading past this book we still needed this one to make sense.
Kara is plagued by thoughts of a man. Very erotic thoughts. She is running from her stepfather. She had started the mating heat and if she does not find her mate soon she will be lost and her stepfather will have access to her powers.
Logan is being held prisoner. Fighting against revealing his shifter nature. But he keeps having these dreams.......
When they meet it will take them both where they are forbidden to go.
I highly recommend this excellent book.
