Poor Abby comes from a family of very high achievers, and feels strongly the intense pressure to measure up. Her life fully revolves around her career, and she desperately needs Tommy in her life to learn how to have some fun. Tommy is just the man for the job and more than willing to step up and give Abby the stress relief she is looking for.
I loved Tommy's character in the Royally series, so it's no surprise he is my favourite character in this book. Loved all of the appearances by characters from the Royally series in Dirty Charmer as well, especially Logan and Ellie.
When smooth-talking, easy going Tommy Sullivan first claps eyes on Abby Haddock, the attraction is instantaneous. He's ready to explore this attraction, but cautious, over-achieving Abby needs some time to consider his offer. Well, thankfully, she's all in, because those two are hot stuff!
Abby and Tommy certainly have their differences; their personalities, their backgrounds and their attitudes, but once together, I appreciated how well they fit in all manner of ways. Conflict typically came from external sources and I liked how the author dealt with their story. Nothing was swept under the carpet or conveniently forgotten. It felt real.
This book is set in a fictitious country and I do wish a clearer explanation had been given about the setting. Apart from this minor niggle, the book reads well as a stand alone within a series of interconnected books.
Tommy is a pretty cool character, and is definitely a rough around the edges kind of guy. When he cares about someone though, he's all in, and he loves hard. Abby comes from an aristocratic family and so she has been raised in a completely different atmosphere to Tommy, and they are basically complete opposites. One thing they do have in common is their determination.
An interesting ride between these two, with a fair bit of push and pull. some great secondary characters, but some villainous ones as well.
Another great addition to this series.
The pair meets while Abigail is treating him for injuries suffered in the line of duty. The first thing he does upon waking up from his concussion is to kiss an unsuspecting Abigail and tease her mercilessly. To say Abigail is unimpressed is, to put it mildly.
Dive in for yourself to see how cheeky Tommy wins the love of driven Abigail and enjoy the delicious laughs along the way.

I wish oh so much I had started Emma’s Royal Trope before Tommy’s book. I loved this book so much.
Abby Haddock may be a surgeon in training, but she lives her straight-laced life to the tee. Having come from a family of overachievers she strives for the very best without getting distracted. I loved Abby and could relate to her. My family has a lot of doctors, while I work in the ER field, I don’t have an MD or Ph.D. at the end of my title.
“Tommy Sullivan is a beautiful whirlwind that I can’t let myself get caught up in.”
Tommy Sullivan is the outgoing bodyguard and I fell in love with him immediately. Tommy is the playboy, yet no woman can hold his attention as Abby can. I think everyone is going to fall in love with Tommy as easily as I did. Though I don’t know if I would be able to hold his attention as Abby did.
“You know what they say about men with big brains, don’t you?
“We’re big everywhere?”
Abby and Tommy decide to have a “no strings” arrangement, but will Abby be able to go back to her boring life of becoming a surgeon or will she realize that Tommy brought color into life and pure happiness and miss it.
Dirty Charmer is what I expect from opposites attract romance. Written so well I need to catch up on the rest of the books. Seriously you don’t want to miss out on this series at all! I highly recommend this book.
